Bro, don’t be crazy. U must be from Penang. Char Kuey tiaw don’t put siham and chili paste u idiot and we Malaysian just tiaw suppose to be thick one. The thin one is call hor fun. Which penang ppl all mess it up. Thin Hor fun and cockles with chili paste is only northern style. Whole other places in Malaysia eat exactly like what he did and no lark needed. And no duck eggs also. Cos those ingredients are for Penang style only. Pls remember Penang only a fraction and not representing all of us Malaysian

Suggestion. Sir fry the prawns in that same quantity of oil as you used for the eggs and leave the oil there. Then only add the eggs and continue with the rest. This way the oil will also have the taste of prawns in them.

Lol the Malays claim that this is wrong since it’s dry, but the word ‘Char Kuey Teow” literally means “stir fried” in Hokkien. The original version prepared by the local Chinese is never wet and has a smoky aroma to it. The Malay version is the one confusing here since it’s wet but coined with the word ‘stir fried’.
