I feel like God has changed my character to be like a grape vine. When problems arise in my life I have learned that he just uses that for his glory, so I just climb over that problem and use it to grow more fruits to show the love of Jesus.

It is an honor to suffer when you know Christ. My youth flashed before me here thinking of how I used to be and the many things that I’ve done. And I think now how I was uprooted from my dwelling all while feeling the joy of Jesus knowing that it would all be wonderful afterwards because I always knew He was in and with me. Although it felt uncomfortable mentally. I continued to stay in Jesus. Congratulations and May the love of Christ continue to keep and be with you all.🙏🏾

God has changed me by making me notice my old self from my new. Seeing the fruits He has produced in me while also seeing the residue of old habits and ways I slip in. Great discernment essentially. The conviction of the Holy Spirit is something I’m extremely grateful for because I know if I didn’t have Him, I’d have backslid. To God be the glory and honor. Great word guys.

God has changed my character by showing me to change my old ways and the things i used to do and how comfortable i used to be living in sin and through all those soils.

When you brought up the topic of not being consistent beucase of wanting to do other things like sleep, working out etc that struck me. That’s where i am right now, and God has been challenging my priorities and my kindness and has been wanting to change my character in those areas

The timing of this episode is an absolute blessing. I’ve been trying to figure out what I was experiencing or where I was wrong in my Christian walk for so long, and I’m amazed that God revealed this episode to me. I think there were some signs that God was pointing me towards and I ignored it-- Believe it or not, I was playing Rocket League one night alone and I was playing one on one. I played against this guy who equally matched me, but I started to become increasingly more irritable when I realized I couldn’t score against him. When he finally broke the tie (2-2) and scored on my net, I forfeited the match with 3 minutes left! It was only a one goal deficit. I sat frustrated about my performance and I got a message from him saying “I better not see you forfeit a match with that much time left in the game… you can’t be a quitter.” I became really defensive and started backing up my side of the story. He was actively trying to positively criticize me, but I was too ignorant to receive it. Though, he dropped a truth bomb on me and he said “you probably act like this in real life considering how you instantly quit.” I didn’t want to accept defeat, so I continually fought back. We closed the conversation and I went to bed angry. Throughout that week, I became easily distracted and irritable … as I was so self centered and unaware of what hole I was digging. However, this episode helped me understand and define what I was going through - where I was wrong. It was a character issue(s)! As Alex said, change happens when you pay attention to the soil of your heart. This is going to sound paradoxical, but I was so focused on justifying where I was at, when I had no clue where I was myself. Furthermore, this podcast also points out, “you are biased against your own soil.” Thank you Amen Podcast. This episode has humbled me and has allowed me to do some serious self-reflection. I appreciate you guys living out what God has called you to do! Thank you ❤️

How has God changed my character? My family of 6 has recently adopted my sister Abby into our family and that is a change within its-self. I am 18 she is 17 and we are both girls. Wow I know, talk about the arguments and head butting that goes on in our house, lol. I mean I see myself and her growing and maturing together every single day through Gods grace. It is the reason I can love Abby the way I love her, forgive her, have compassion for her, correct her mistakes. Because I know this is what our Father has done for us. I guess The things I consume has changed too like; the things that I listening to, the things I watch, and my eating habits. It’s amazing how believing in Jesus’ love for us/sacrifice can do for All of us I am so grateful for you both Alex and “Lokilani”(sorry) you have done an amazing job using your gifts. It is great hearing this shared wisdom with so much kindness. ❤❤❤

Thank you Alex Wilson and Lokelani for this episode. Congratulations on baby #6 ❤. This episode made me reflect on whats inside my heart. I used to think all about myself and the worries and anxieties of fulfilling the agendas that the world pushes ate at me. I was the seed that looked nice on the outside but deep down inside I wasn't producing fruit and it's due to my character. God has opened my eyes multiple times however I did not choose to abide in his word and I kept getting tripped on what I can do without God and it's led me to realize that I can't do it on my own. I need God in my life and this walk isn't going to be easy but it feels easier knowing that I can just trust first in Jesus and God's plan for my life. God has changed my character by changing my view and perspective on things knowing that it's no longer what I can do but what he can do in me that will produce fruit hundredfold. Let the lord Jesus Christ be with you all. 🙏❤️

God has changed my character, despite my resistance due to pride & the world telling me that it’s good to be selfish, through my experiences. As a teacher and a ministry leader I’m constantly faced with situations that I can either respond to with my character or with His character. Like I’m realizing they are two different things and over time, through asking Him, they will become one. Right now, in those moments before I speak, I’m trying to train myself to first ask how will I respond, with my character or His?

Wow, put in such a helpful and simple way. I listen to you guys often and its always such an encouragement. Specially what was mentioned “how quickly we return to joy”. God has convicted me of dishonesty through out my life and shown me how I have allowed so many “permissible sins” cause “hey, its not that big of a deal”. And the weight of conviction and desire to be molded to Christ has filled me.. however I feel so much joy has left as I have been in this season of mourning for almost 2 years.. this message has challenged me, and I want to continue to pray about this. Thank you for your ministry!

Hey guys! My husband and I have been watching you both for a while now and we love your podcast. Congratulations on baby #6! We just had our 5th in November ☺️ Now I will say I disagree with the part about birth control. The Bible does say be fruitful and multiply, but the context behind that in the Bible was regarding the fact that the population of people on earth were very limited. God wanted them to repopulate. Also, there's no scripture that explicitly states that birth control is wrong. Onan who spilt his seed was extorted by God because of the spirit he had behind said action and the selfishness. I agree with the fact that people using superficial reasons for not wanting to have children is wrong and they need to check their heart, but to say that all birth control at all times is unacceptable isnt biblical and doesn't reflect the free will that God gave us. The way that part of this message was conveyed was as though people who decide to use for birth control their family planning preferences don't have God working in their life. This can cause people to stumble and feel ashamed for doing what works for their family. God is not in less control of their life because they made a collective decision to delay having children. Loved everything else about this message, but that particular part came off a bit insensitive.
