Someone mentioned in one of my other videos to do a series looking at each of the Spheres and I liked the idea quite a bit so I decided to do so. This is the first one because of course I'm going to do them in order.
Pattern Spheres are not the other 8 Spheres. Pattern Spheres are the Spheres concering things "made" of something... Matter, Life, Forces, Mind, Prime and Spirit I think... Non-Pattern Spheres are Correnspondence, Entropy and Time.
I love it! Definitely subscribing. We have a game coming up and I want to play a mage :) My idea is to specialize in guns. It'd be awesome to mix correspondence and guns to teleport my bullets to my target or sit in a sniper watch and use the scrying to watch multiple locations at once for my target.
You could do that, but it would be considered a vulgar effect and harder to pull off. You can, however, use correspondence to give your mage perfect sensory knowledge of their targets to decrease the difficulty of their shots, basically giving them a chance to pull off some John Wick level gunplay.
Never hier sphere than arete? Never say never in mage. Whatabout in Digital web, or Mars, Doistep? or other horizon realm? lol Viva la wards, scrying, bans and seals!
While that sort of thing is entirely in the hands of your Storyteller, or you if you are the Storyteller, that is my personal rule on how I tend to run things.
With a high enough rather in matter and correspondence you can, in fact, teleport a nuke. The difficulty doing so depends entirely on, location, both where it is and where you want to teleport it to, weight/volume of the nuke, whether it is warded or not and other factors. That's the fun part about the magic system for Mage. You have the potential to do anything, but some things will be easier than others.
