It's official. Matt and Lemmy can create an interesting backstory for ANY character.

Just imagine how Sprite is going to react when she has to be taken to the works one day for maintenance. Like she’ll just be having the time of her life feeling like she’s going at the speed of light despite the fact they’re only going 30 mph.

I think the Snow Machine's just been dethroned as the most obscure TTTE Character covered on Character Gallery.

I can imagine Scruff having therapy to cope with being an engine.

the single track route with the little passing junction kinda also represents their personalities they both go up and down all the time, and they have one little split in personality but it makes such a big difference in the long run

I can imagine if these Funicular engines can appear in the OG Thomas series and here are the episodes: Ups and Downs Stone's Wild Ride Sprite and 0-73 Therapy and Relief and Stone Comes Home And BTW I believe that 0-73 deserves to have a name, Maybe her name could be either Ida, Ophelia or Amelia.

This is the story about the two siblings. Thier names are Sprite and Stone. Who work in the funicular railway. Years ago. They actually are brother and sister. For their backstory and family business. For the passengers to travel. On the part of the skarloey railway 🚂🚃

I wouldn't be surprised if they had a dynamic that was almost like what Spongebob and Squidward have. One being all peppy and excited to do their work, and the other just being jaded, cynical and kind of bored of it. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up seeing a side to the "downer" that no one would've expected, where he would verbally destroy anyone that would upset the "upper". Like, I could see how Sir Handel managed to hurt the upper's feelings so much, that it actually makes the downer so angry, that he just outright explodes when he reaches where Sir Handel is.

The longest episode ever on a character gallery; a new record. Honestly, I haven't laughed this hard in a while. There were a lot of moments that had me dying. Especially with 0-73 just flying over the lake. I like how you put more of a robotic tone to her. I swear, she's actually a robot from what you said.

I fell in love with those two. Sprite is a grace! What fascinated me most is that in most animations that have sentient vehicles, there are many trains, cars, planes, buses, but when they have elevators or funiculars they barely appear and when they appear they are not sentient, and I have never seen a vehicle of the type be represented like this. When do you have more news about Sprite and Stone?I know this video must be over a year old. I'm sorry my bad English, but it's not my native language.

HOW THE HECK DID YOU GUYS DRAW SO MUCH OUT OF ONE PARAGRAPH, THIS ADDS SO MUCH TO THE SKARLOEY RAILWAY DYNAMIC I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. Someone just has to make a skit out of all of Stone's interactions - and the "mental health" area of the Steamworks that is just gold.

I know I’m a little late commenting this but, could we get an official timeline of events for the Character Gallery Universe? Honestly, I love this take on a composite Sodor and I would love to see how everything intertwines as you keep building on it

3 character gallery in a month, what a treat. These are great. Love them. Stone and sprite are such an interesting duo and they seem really different from others. I can't wait to see who's next. I'd love to see molly, neville, Paxton, sideny, Norman and maybe diesel 10.

Everytime I think I know enough about the railway series, there's ALWAYS something I didn't know including these two. I love the way you made the characters and how you named them. Sprite and Somber (Somber Stone) are amazing.

You know what forget the actual Thomas characters we all know and love. These types of characters are way more interesting. In all seriousness though I'd never knew about this funicular Railway so this was interesting to see where you guys took this episode. But like you guys mentioned in your episode I would like to see Mighty Mac and these two characters interact just for the soul fact I think there's a bit in common and also I actually got excited when you mentioned them LOL. But seriously you too this is another awesome episode if you tackle any character next I love to see an obscure magazine character.

I imagine the only engine able to truly get along with both Sprite _and_ Stone would be Little Giant, due to having the happy and sad ends. Like, if Sprite was at the top the happy side would speak to her, and if Stone was at the top the sad side would speak to him.

Now this is quite interesting.

Due to Duncan's comment about the gauges of the Skarloey railway and the Culdee Fell railway being similar, all I can think about is an engine on the SKR going to the works for a few weeks, and they have to get an engine from the CFR to work on the railway as a replacement after tweaking their wheels a bit

I just found something interesting. Look up Penang Hill Funicular railway. I kid u not, there are pictures of a red & white carrying a truck. These guys actually have rolling stock. I assume maybe it’s for like extra baggage for tourists going to the lake maybe.

If you want to know my views about this series of videos, read my recently-published comment I brought up on the Character Gallery video focusing on Mallard. As for the fact that these guys have the gut to elaborate on obscure aspects of the Sodor lore, I have some suggestions you ought to consider in future: 1) Caroline - A minor established character in the franchise that really gets little regard even from most current fans who are more inclined to just rave on about Duke and BoCo's absence from the official show than Caroline's, which is equally as long. I personally like the idea of Caroline starting life owned by a prospering individual - in the 1920s when most still couldn't afford their own car - and having to be servant to a wealthy man all the time to coming through in making choices for herself when she no longer has that benefit placed upon her. I always got the idea from 'Train Stops Play' that she depended on her Master to treat her properly her too well. I'd like to see how Elizabeth the Vintage Lorry comes into it, because as I see it, they'd play off so well, and how it ends up playing a part in helping Caroline come around, given how Elizabeth is Caroline's practical opposite having gone through the hard-earned life she didn't experience. 2) Lady - Yes, Lady from Thomas & the Magic Railroad. I'm two-sided here. On one hand it is interesting to try and expand on the magical lore behind Lady as implied in the film and its directors' cut, and whether or not perhaps Lady's immortality to the existence of the steam engines on Sodor was because she had once been a Sodor engine herself before being, basically, adopted (stolen?) and enchanted by the Conductor Family when they wanted a back-up in the event of a gold dust crisis. Maybe Lady had had a turbulent life in the interim before winding up in the care of Burnett Stone, hence why he was concerned for her; if Lady had been through a lot even though she couldn't express it to him through a face, he knew he had a responsibility to ensure her safety. On the other hand, what was Lady's origin exactly? Was she an engine Sir Topham Hatt designed for construction duties prior to the formation of the North Western Railway, and got pushed by the wayside not long after? Was Thomas & the Magic Railroad just a hard dream Lady had in effect of her situation stuck in an out-of-the-way siding? I find it just interesting to discuss. 3) Luke - I actually like the idea that we could delve into a deeper backstory for this little charmer from the Blue Mountain Quarry that would work in his favour. I mean yes he's a small engine and you don't expect him to have a big arc, but it would nevertheless be intriguing to see what sort of backstory would motivate him to be the character he was in his introduction; does he have this desire to please someone that has been undermined for him in the past before coming to Sodor, hence his fear he'll leave after indirectly sending Victor into the sea? That's something interesting to elaborate on if you ask me. Regards, Samuel Farris.

There is a funicular at Niagara Falls but it hasn’t been used probably since the pandemic or something.

Actually knowing a funicular railway exists isn't too farfetched to me, having been to one in Yorkshire myself, but it is fun hearing the perspective of these little engines.

I love the way you do these things for all the minor background characters. But it really bothers me that stone's doors are at three different levels , but sprite has only one level, so they couldn't use the same platform, and it really bothers the transit nerd part of me.

rusty's top speed is 30 mph, and i don't think rusty would be going at full speed, so it's more likely that rusty was going at 20-25 mph.
