Can you please tell me how do you choose the flat and gradient colors for your illustrations? How do you decide that how many colors would you need to create enough contrast in the illustration? I mean like in the above illustration you took 3 gradients and 2 flat colors....how did you know 3 gradient colors were enough,why not 5 or 2 instead? I always struggle with colors making illustrations. Btw i think you work is amazing and you deserve a lot more subscribers,I'll definitely share your channel with my designer friends. I have some tips that may be helpful to you: - Based on the mood of illustration to choose the right color palette - To generate the appropriate color palette, You can pick the main flat color then go to the Color Guide Panel in Illustrator to select the color scheme . - To create gradient colors, pick a flat color, duplicate it then increase or decrease brightness. Combine them to create gradient colors I really don't know how many colors I need before drawing. I try to follow my feelings until My illustration have enough contrast and match the mood. Sorry for commenting with a question to the 5 years ago video. But when you added shadows to your illustrations, did you use multiply on black? Or did you use the same color and multiply?
1 . How many layers you work in this? 2. How you colors with one part? Like hair, blouse, skin.. Because whenever I try to color it's always get in all parts :(

hey, lovely illustration. one huge doubt i had was how do you duplicate the colour for the gradient. i tried playing your video in the slow speed but somehow could quite catch it. also, your channel is really underrated, it deserves more love than ever
