Is it easy to set up IK FK in the arms in blender?

You got my like for an illegally cute fox. I also have a 3D fox, but to this day, I haven't see a method for truely comfortably animating a long tail, that may bend in several different directions along it's length. So far, animating the tail is always a very annoying task because you are busy forever with tweaking........
