Damn this trailer sums up the archon quest but still doesn’t spoil it it’s brilliant, Mihoyo really outdid themselves with Ei’s backstory

The devs already gave a hint of this during the 2.0 unveiling stream: "-out of the sorrow of loss, obsession is born."

After finishing the Act 2 of Ei's Story Quest, watching this video again amplified how emotional this is, people who loves Ei and were invested in the recent quest can relate.

One thing I love that mihoyo did, unintentionally or intentionally, was basically reincarnate Raiden’s old friends. Sara is the new tengu general, Itto is the new Oni, and Yae is the new fox. Specifically Sara and Itto are the direct descendants of the originals. It seems they are all friends as well; itto and Sara are frenemies/rivals, itto and Sara are also friends with Yae. Ei finally has her friends again!

All Raiden family teasers hit hard. Both Ei and Scaramouche/ Kunikuzishi, it’s so emotional. I can’t wait for Mouchie’s trailer.

Here after the full release of Inazuma, We can Finally piece together what happened to Ei and what led to her being Averse to Progress. She lost Sasayuri, The Tengu, in the first civil war between Sangonomiya and Narukami. In return She slayed Orobashi She Lost Chiyo to the Corruption of the Abyss, That led to the Yokai of Narukami going insane, And had to slay her by her own hands She lost Kitsune Saiguu, Because Saiguu wanted to Protect Makoto against the Cataclysm, But she ended up perishing herself She lost Makoto in the Midst of the Khaenriah War, Something she was forced to take part in It's no wonder, that after all that she would've been scared of moving forward, as the path was riddled with Obstacles, One more difficult than the other. It would've been far easier and less painful to just stay where you were

Majority of the genshin community really is incapable of understanding complex characters. Raiden didn't do all this because she was depressed or salty but because she didn't want the history repeating itself. She just chose the wrong methods to execute it.

For those who are still confused *Raiden Shogun* - The vessel of Raiden Ei who is meditating inside of Plane of Euthymia, a puppet that was programmed to pursue eternity. *Raiden Ei (Beelzebul)* - The current electro archon, twin sister of Makoto, meditating inside of Plane of Euthymia. *Raiden Makoto (Baal)* - The previous electro archon, twin sister of Ei, died in great cataclysm. *Scaramouche* - also known as Kunikuzushi, No. 6 of the Fatui Harbingers, The Balladeer, a test subject created by Ei. *Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto* - The same puppet created by Ei, The Raiden Shogun, weekly boss. The Shogun's eternity is so much more complex than we think. while we all thought that Ei wanted to preserve the past and keep things be exactly how the past was through eternity, she actually always wanted to stop the future and preserve the present moment. eternity does not affect the past, but the present. She basically wants to eliminate the past and the future and keep the present moment preserved, in an unchanging motion. the reason im saying this is because i've seen people say that she is blind because she's stuck in the past but actually she has a much better understanding of eternity Ei is actually a genius.

Remember when we thought that the figure that looks like Ei is just a representation of her happier self? Yeah... Now it turns out it's Ei's sister

It feels like all we ever do in each new realm is try to survive each Archons' coping mechanism for depression.

It hurts after the archon quest you realize that the person we’re looking at at the beginning is actually Ei and the person we all thought was her past self is her sister and then to top it all off we see the shogun and then go back to Ei this is perfect wow

She doesn’t say a single word, but we understand her backstory and, more importantly, feel the weight of it. Brilliant teaser.

I like how different the archons react to immortality and losing a friend: Venti used escapism (aka running away and going after pleasures such as drinking), Zhong li buried himself in his work (though he could be considered luckier since he had other immortal companions?), while Baal is in denial of what happened, well not really in denial but she’s trying to make sure that her pains would never happen again.

Coming back after finishing the Archon Quest. Wow, just wow.

After watching Ei's 2nd story quest, this teaser hits differently 🥲

What’s interesting about Shogun’s design is that she has a morning glory pinned to her hair. Morning glories only bloom in the early mornings, and they represent brief moments or fleeting love. Which is… the total opposite of eternity that Baal yearns so dearly. Hmmm

We went from Yoimiya’s fun and goofy trailer to this D E P R E S S I O N.

I feel so sad for Ei. Her backstory is just so sad and some people see her as a bad archon but she has a reason why she has to do all those things

Came back here after Nahida's teaser. I liked it and I felt pity for her, but Ei's teaser is still the best or #1 for me.

When Baal turns around and her sight changes, that made me feel absolute chills.

Now that I’ve rushed the story I can gladly say that this video is even more depressing than meets the eye.
