Heyy another year another video, am I right?
This might sound like a coincidence but it is really not, it's been a year since I uploaded my last video. In case someone doesn't know I'm in college, there's been little time for me to draw with the peace I like and that's why I've been out. I have resigned myself. I obviously won't be able to upload videos like I used to do before, sadly, so I've decided to do whenever I can-
This speedpaint.. this one in particular has been a constant battle with myself since I didn't know whether to upload it or not. I feel insecure with my art skills lately because It's been time since I didn't draw full pieces like this one, besides, I knew that if I did I would have to do more at some point not quite knowing if I will be able to in the future. Here it is, fortunately, I finally got a good feeling :)
So this is it. This is the video where I present you my updated main character idea-
The sketch that appeared at the start of the video was made by me 5 years ago and it was indeed the first one I did of this character.
I remember experimenting with different colors on a base that I took out of google due to my skills, and once colored, I used to like the design so much that I kept the same colors on the character that is now the icon of this channel. The idea of the hair was a bit complex.. and I think that was what made it pretty in my eyes.
The first idea of its cutie mark was a video game control since I played a lot of them around that time. With time it developed in something more unique, but at the same time, messy- I remember mixing random things that I liked such as video games, cats, stars, music.. basically a disaster. I never thought about the main plot of the character until I tried to make a story with her that, in the end, didn't make sense.
In this new version I clearly didn't want to change her a lot since there's features proper to the character that I want to stay with. To put you a little in context of the new traits, I've been a space lover since I was a teen and such interest kept growing relatively- but I feel like lately, and I mean like two years ago, my interest has grown much more. Astronomy simply fascinates me and that's why I've decided to involve this character with space even more than it already was.
I don't have some things as clear yet, but I can assure you that this character will represent one of my favorite stars to remember her like that for the rest of the days.
