You typed this 4 years ago but I still feel the need to say this: I agree. What they could have done was have Alec get shot on Habitat-7 which would badly injure him (but not kill him). As a result, he can't continue on as Pathfinder. So, he gives the role to either Scott or Sara (depending on who you choose). Would have been better.

Same, besides some of the crappy facial animations it was actually really good! No where near as good as the trilogy but if andromeda was its own game it would be fantastic (does that make sense?)

Fire Hedgehog personally, I loved this game and can't wait to see more. The whole Firefly thing it had going was pretty cool. The Heleus Cluster truly felt like it was the new frontier to me.

Andromeda is a great game lost inside a mediocre one. The companion missions are great and there's some incredible, memorable story moments, but it's just packed with way too much filler in between.

It would have been a decent game, had it came out as an independent title. But now it has to mach with its predecessors, and let's be real here - you can't be better than the legends :)

Probably because you skipped most of the side missions. The side missions give this game about 80 - 90 hours, which is the longest of all Mass Effect Games.

@Dedal Donnager yes it actually. Got to point out that Javik didnt exist in the game till after launch. If anything there are lines in ME:A that absolutely great.

Are people forgetting how Mark Meer voiced Shepard or how all your choices basically was choose your favorite color get the same ending or how choosing different fractions in the first two games didn't mean shit in the third game I'll take Andromeda any day over "Shepard is the best" "Shepard is the hero" "Shepard changed my life" even tho I did the work and changed it myself "Shepard saved us all" even tho joker, the alliance, and the thousands of ships shooting the reapers actually killed them and saved everybody but hey to you fanboys nothing can top the Shepard ass kissing fanclub

I love Sara's voice acting simply because of the amount of f-bombs she drops. I cuss frequently so I love it. I only really loathed the "Stay extra frosty" comment on the kett base on Voeld. The tone completely got under my skin, lol. Otherwise I loved everything else. I don't know if her brother drops the f-bomb too, but if he does, that's fantastic because I paint him in my head as the sweet innocent one while Sara is the "don't g.a.f." one who gets shit done.

You are not alone. Take a gander at some of the newer comments from many Andromeda vids and you see people are actually enjoying the game. Really. The idea of using that free ten hours you get with Origin Access really allows some people to really enjoy and get into the game.

You can't deny they made some characters uglier on purpose, just watch how Sara Ryder looked in earlier trailers. It's like someone at bioware decided to make her uglier on purpose a week before release.

Why would they make them ugly on purpose though? That makes no sense. I think it was just someone who screwed up(hell, a lot of the game is screwed up). Just look up the game's development and how poorly that went. That has to be the reason.

Joseph Honora Ryder in earlier trailers looked a lot better. In the final product, everything seemed dummed down and downgraded. Just look at the character creator. Not one preset looks decent. They all look atrocious. And you're right. A woman doesn't have to be a model to look pretty. She just has to look decent, like almost any woman in real life. And Sara Ryder looks like something a donkey and pig fucked and gave birth to.

MCP/ChronicBuzz Sam and the Ryder's sound flat and emotionless. I know that SAM is an AI but edi, legion, soverign and harbinger all sounded great

Agreed, their voice doesn't sounds right, but it's not just the voice actor's false, it's also because the piss poor writing, and the director doesn't do their job. I fucking miss Jennifer Hale(femshep), and who ever voice over Garrus. Those are some solid voice acting.

In the game we meet a cameo of Garrus's father, who had the same voice that Garrus. And the son of Zaeed Massani. And Conrad Verner's sister.

with ME3, they made a free DLC to expand the endings. The original issue is that all your choices ended up not feeling like they mattered. A different color was it? The DLC made it much better IMHO (I still played the game before the DLC and overall yes it was good). ME4 though ... no, absolutely no excuse for that level of bugs on launch. Yes the first two patches were an improvement (hence why it shouldn't have released for a few more months after it did), but it was still buggy even after that. And EA still gave the middle finger to single players by doing multi-player DLC only. Oh and for the Quarian ark, we get a book instead of a DLC? Nope, not paying for that book. I'll read a synopsis online sometime if I find myself caring. When paying customers don't get what they're expecting they are well within their rights to make their disappointment heard. As much as I loved Star Wars Rebels, I still respected the people who didn't like it who kept saying Clone Wars was better.

Thing is mass effect 3 ending almost ruined the whole trilogy but it was still a good game but andromeda has not only fucking shitty animations but game breaking bugs, stupid AI, really bad voice acting with one of the worst scripted lines and you can't defend it cus it had bigger budget then any other mass effect game but it still managed to fuck things up as much as it had better fighting mechanics it's still really bad game

LightStreak567 what killed it for me was when you meet the aliens for the first time. They speak English, and Ryder doesn't even act suprised.

QueenThoria Not really. The game made it clear that they all have translators. When Ryder heard the first few angara speak before meeting Paran and Jaal on Aya, we hear them speak their native language at first because the game wants to make it clear that everyone has translators. The first three Mass Effect games never bothered to make it clear that every race speaks their own language, but we hear them speak English because we hear them through Shepard and Ryder's translators.

@@LightStreak567 If I remember right, in the Milky Way it's part translator and part learned. But yeah, there translators learn the language and translate as it learns new phrases (with V.I. assistance, maybe).

just me It is, they put no life into it. Gets told their dad died, sounds bland, the voice had no emotion. And don't even get me started on S.A.M

While some of the story and acting criticism is valid in some cases, it was definitely the technical issue that really killed this game. Without them, I'm pretty sure that EA would've turned a much better profit from it.
