Maybe. I think the older CoD games liked to give random NPC's backrounds to make them seem just as human as the player character and his team. It gives the illision that everyone you run into has their own history, even if you never get to know all of them. Some are more obvious ones are name drops like Carlos, Mac, or McKnight. But have you ever heard of Walcroft and Griffen from Modern Warfare? They make appearances in 2 different games but they dont really stand out among the many more fleshed out characters. Still, both recieve different promotions over the years between when you last saw them. Even though you may never notice they are recurring characters, if you do notice, you realize that their struggles as a team are just as real as yours.
It always bugged me that Keegan, Kick, Joker just disappeared. The rest make sense, but those 3 disappeared when they were needed most, and it didn't make sense because they were directly associated with the protagonists
I agree. Especially for Joker since he shows up and actually has a personality. I would’ve liked to see him join Sentinel since he looks like the type to help others instead of the getting payed money but he’s just gone.
@@leebroschaunceyandquincy3385 Joker kinda seemed like he could've gone either way with his loyalty, he was young and inexperienced, he was around the age when his loyalty may have been more focused on his employer than doing what's right. His moral dilemma would've been really interesting if they included
In the last mission, Judgement Day, you get contacted by some nameless US Army General while assaulting Menendez's base. I always thought that if you spare Briggs, it should've been him contacting you instead.
@@nic4090 nothing too big just a character that appears like for five minutes or so, discussing about noriega's capture and then you never see him again. i kinda relate to him, he is just a generic soldier and i like him. also i did not expect to gain so many likes on this comment, as it was just a joke.
It would have been cool to see Carlos in BO2 during ‘Suffer With Me’ and ‘time and fate’ as a CIA Asset for Latin American Conflicts. Also in the pre-alpha of MW2, Viktor and Anatoly are both at 4677 Brookmere Road.
I remember playing through the AW campaign and wondering what happened to Joker. I thought he'd join us when Gideon betrayed Atlas, and then I wondered if he may be some final boss we have to kill later. Instead, he just disappeared.
Carlos likely got citizenship and lived out his life in america. Crosby was shot and injured. I’m assuming he survived but being shot in the elbow probably can’t be a quick recovery. I still have no idea what happened to Joker. It’s the oddest one on here. Mac was killed. Viktor was killed. Anatoly was killed eventually but I don’t think we see that in the game and the last guy was very clearly killed lol
@@danhguitardemos From the call of duty franchise, yes because Activision wants to be a dick dick and not make call of duty ghost 2. But not his own game, turns out when he gets dragged into the pit, the light we see at the end of the cut scene is a helicopter, possibly they found him.
It would be cool to atleast get a reference woods be talking about who to help against the cia and he can think of McKnight and say he cant hes got a kid and wife or his wife is divorcing him at the moment
McKnight showing up wouldn’t really have made sense. It’s clear from his dialogue in the bo2 mission that he had just met Woods and Mason. That’s why he tells you he read Mason’s file
Carlos was just an information that it Crosby got killed in the first mission Joker was still in the company as a spy McKnight was in a completely different squad aka sniper squad who only job was to help you make your way Mac dead Viktor was shot in the honey bagder mission Anatoly most likely was killed in some mission And alexi was killed by your frag
@@akramhaouam9943Basically another character named Crosby appeared in Blackops 1 it's the mission where Mason Woods and Bowman has to look for the Defector in the city, there is a scene where Mason Takes a radio from the Marine that Marine name is also Crosby so people believe or that it might be true that it's Crosby's father .
Petty Officer 1st Class Crosby is a SEAL Team Six Operative in Call of Duty: Black Ops II seen in the level "Celerium", "Fallen Angel" and "Odysseus". status: WIA (wounded in action)
McKnight was one of my favorites, before he had his sniper he showed his accuracy when he hit the Panamanian with the empty beer can while on the run and at distance
Crosby debio aparecer mas en la campaña, ojala vuelva en la supuesta securla de black ops 2 que saldra el proximo año creo, viktor como tal no contaria como desaparecido, literal murio, en su lugar hubieras puesto a Frost
A little explanation for each character would be nice... for example Carlos was a one-mission character from the start and Crosby felt like actual squad member and he showed up from time to time.
Advanced Warfare was such underrated game. It has so many cool features, but was ruined by players' negative bias toward jetpacks. The worst of all: A lot of cool features weren't even jetpack related, yet they weren't carried over to next CoDs.
viktor was actually supposed to be makarovs right hand man, but then MW3 came around and they developed the yuri storyline so viktor was pretty much scrapped
Derek "Frost" Westbrook from MW3, member of Sandman's team. We played as him during the failed rescue of the Russian president's daughter. But he was gone on the following mission to save the Russian president, where Sandman, Grinch, and Truck were presumed KIA. And he's considered alive as a result.
Even though crosby only had 2 voicelines and barely any backstory, he is still my favorite side character because of how cool he is and how hes always got your back
Carlos was a cuban revel and likely got killed if he returned to cuba or worked for the cia if not. Crosby was wounded, so likely in recovery. Mac would make voice appearances in mw2 and 3 during loading screen cutscemes. McKnight was not a part of mason and woods's mission after exteacting noriegua and was likely given another objective
you know what's even funnier? during "No russian" makarov's men can die and he says "he's dead leave him" which destroys entire game because it's supposed to be only allen's body that's found what they found russian criminal mercenary in heavy vest with machinegun as well and just ignored it? also almost none of those characters just "disappeared"
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! You might like to watch this video: - How did they not realize it was Makarov's plan? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o_19GqCSA5w.html
Keegan and Kick disappearing annoy me. Ajax only talking when he dies bugs me too but that's digression. Makes me wish all of them could be together for the flashback mission. Y'know, a whole squad of Ghosts, six men. Like the game mode they promoted Squads.
If you pre-ordered MW3 {2011} Hardened edition, you would get Soaps diary which explains Macs fate. During the mission "Heat" when falling back to the 3rd phase line after blowing the C4, you hear Mac cry out in pain that he was hit. you learn in the diary that he died from this.
Crosby and Joker are really the only two who "suddenly disappeared" and it's pretty annoying how the do. The rest either fulfill their purpose, have a reason to not return, were nobody anybody, or even showed why they disappeared in the video. Even Crosby might have an excuse due to being shot and not being able to go on after that. This video also leaves out Keegan and Kick who were incredibly frustrating with their disappearances.
Crosby was in the fallen angel mission too when sit in the car and drive it to escape at time Crosby is sitting in the car then when he comes out of our car he goes and takes control of the gun in the car infront of us
Answer from ChatGPT about Mac and Captain MacMillan: In "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" (and its remastered version), the character "Mac" who says "Bloody hell, I'm hit" and is later confirmed dead in the mission "Safehouse" is Sergeant Paul Jackson's pilot. This Mac is different from Captain MacMillan. The "Mac" you're referring to is part of the team in the helicopter that gets shot down, and he's a separate character from Captain MacMillan. The confusion might arise from the use of the nickname "Mac," but they are distinct characters within the game. If you ask ChatGPT about Mac in mission FNG it says that's Captain McMillan.
Dont trust chatgpt like this, its all wrong. Mac in FNG is the same Mac as in Heat. McMillan is in the old mission with Price as the playable character and called Baseplate in MW3.
@@NatzoXavier I was always wondering if this Mac guy is actually McMillan. Makes sense if you thing he was promoted to higher ranks and didn't stay as an instructor even after all he's been with Price. Thanks for clarifying.
@@ioannisbitsis511 Mac and McMillan are very different characters. Mac died in the mission "Heat" after being shot, if you read Soap's diary it states in it that Mac died. McMillan got injured back in the day when Price was a Lt. and I assume he couldnt be on the field anymore and was just moved up to work closer with the SAS.
