It didn't work well for me using the setup I have. Any recommendations? What's your experience using charcoal or charcoal briquettes? Please comment below!!
The briquettes are full of rubbish your better to burn wood if you can’t get lump charcoal (if you use lump charcoal you won’t get clinker nearly as much as coal, I only use lump charcoal as I can’t get good coal or coke where I live in Australia.
@@FeatherHorseforge -- Thanks for the advice!! Does lump charcoal burn hot enough to reach a yellow heat on steel? I've been blacksmithing for 30 years and have never tried charcoal, but coal is becoming increasingly hard and expensive to obtain.
@@ironcladranchandforge7292 yes cobba it will melt your project if your not careful. Ps blacksmiths only used lump charcoal before bituminous coal was discovered.
@@FeatherHorseforge -- Thanks!! I've always wanted to try charcoal of some type but never got around to it. Now I have a good excuse, LOL. 30 years ago I could by coal in my area at $8 per 50 pound bag. I would buy a ton at a time. Now it's close to $40 per bag!! If I can find it at all.........
