Thank you Lindie! Yes, I did. But if I use a reference photo my portraits never look like the reference. I only use it for shadow reference.

And your new setup for filming while working vertically worked really well! Was it comfortable?

Yes, Iris, it worked perfectly actually. I put a large piece of cardboard behind the easel, to avoid too many visual distractions for the viewer. And the rest was done like I showed on my blog.

beautiful as always. how do you protect each portrait in your art journal..does closing it make the chalk pastels smear, do you put anything in between your pages? thanks in advance.

Thanks so much Stephanie! The pastels don't really smear, but they do get transferred a bit to the opposite page. I don't really mind because usually I keep the opposite page blank, but otherwise I put a sheet of glassine paper or parchment paper in between.
