Thanks for posting! Having said that, when it comes to charge rates, you have to look at the "C" rating of the battery. When it says, "Do not charge with more than 1C.", then you look at the mah of the battery. So if the battery says 5000 mah, you do exactly what you said, take the last two digits away and then put a comma between the two first digits. In this case 5.0. If the battery says 5600 mah, it would be 5.6. Now multiply that with the "C" rating and you have your max charge rating. 5.0 x 1 is 5 Amps. Or 5.6 x 1C is 5.6 Amps. Now, some batteries say 2C,3C or even 5C. So all you have to do is multiply that number with the "mah" number. Example: 5.0 x 5C is 25 amps. So you can charge the battery with 25 amps! The 5600 mah battery can be charge with 28 amps if it has a rating of 5C. Its that simple. : ) EDIT: When it comes to discharging, you kind of do the same. When the battery says 40/80C on it, then you multiply the "mah" number again and get the discharge rating. So 5x40 is 200 amps. So the battery can be discharged continuously with 200 amps. And up to 400 (5x80) for short bursts... Thanks.
great video thank you for the info i never knew i could charge other batteries till i started digging around getting into the rc world is a blast and i didnt wanna have to buy another charger but thanks to your video i found out i didnt have to A+++
ok so i did what you said. Now I have finished driving my car and want to store the battery. Do I have to do this process again for the charger to recognise my non traxxas batteries or are the settings stored on the charger so I don't have to keep doing the 2 button down thing all the time?
hello, I know this is a long time ago but I just bought a gens ace gtech 5300 MAh 11.4v 100c 3s but this charger wont charge it all the way up to 100% it stops and when I check the battery it only lights up till the third light please help
Hey. Great video...but when I plug it in, it flashes, then I press the two buttons, then the voltage button, then I choose voltage but it only flashes red. This is using a brand new battery. Why is that?
