You could test internal resistance of the cells after many charge cycles. I would presume that the battery, that would be charged with the fast/rapid charger, would have higher internal resistance.
Right out of milwaukees manual The charger will keep the battery pack fully charged if it is left on the charger. The light indicator will flash green during this maintenance charging.
Excellent demonstration James,nice to see your twin brother helping out, when i worked on the farm i was always told not to quick charge batteries but the batteries are all made different now.
They also have a SUPER charger for the new high output packs with 21700 cells that's way faster than the rapid. It is the only Milwaukee charger that has a built in cooling fan. While I don't have one of those, I do have the standard and rapid chargers. If you find yourself needing faster charging, it is well worth it. When I'm not in a time crunch, I use the standard charger for the reasons he mentioned. Heat has always been the enemy of batteries. Maybe not as bad with Li-Ion, but they are expensive, so I prefer not to find out the hard way.

i think its not a myth slow charging gives longevity i believe i use the fast charger alot on ego and one of the batterys have stopped charging so i believe every now and then to slow charge microwave your meals all the time not so much flavour

6A charger on power tools is the bare minimum acceptable. If a tool company uses anything less, let alone makes anything with a brushed motor then obviously it's complete garbage. 21700 cells feel to big and heavy 5s 2p 18650 2.5ah 10c (5AH) feels best to me becaue the current draw compared with 5s 1p 21700 has half the current capability my high power tools just eat them alive. You could have calculated how long each battery would take to charge by looking at the amps on the charger. 6AH battery using 6A charger = 60 minute charge.... pretty basic maths Einstein
You can do all the calculations based on what's printed on things all you want. Reality is often much different than what's printed. Also these don't take heat losses into consideration, so, say you put a battery on a 10amp charge. It will never actually accept the full 10amps. I'm pretty sure you know this. It's pretty basic stuff, Tesla. Haha! What can I say? It was low hanging fruit. It's fine if you prefer calculated theoretical solutions. But I think you'll find yourself in the minority with that preference. It's just not as much fun to watch as a timer and blinking LEDs. Haha!
