Join me as I discuss my latest charity shop finds, tracking how much I paid and how much profit I make by way of CEX trade in vouchers. I'll then be spending those vouchers on se amazing items..... enjoy
Ive been hunting charity shops for years now. Had some massive finds, Boxed metroid 2, boxed Oracle of ages, cheap gamecube games.... Sure it doesnt happen all the time but it makes it that much better when it does. Nice game collection dude!
Another great video. I did a similar buy and trade only yesterday. On Sunday I went to longbridge as a guy was selling 5 switch games for £15. I kept 1, traded the rest and got a £60 voucher.
I live slap bang of central London, so it’s like being in the middle of a spiders web with many shops and possibly charity shops around in every direction I turn. I’m confident that if I apply your approach that I could do well in charity shops. Need to get out there like you do. I can head north, south, east and west easily from this part of London, so I gotta give it a go.
Mate that is a crazy profit 📈 😳. Personally I can't be arsed to go charity shop hunting everyday but I have found some great stuff in the past. I'm glad you love the hunt. That AC Odyssey statue looks awesome. I also have an interest in Greek Mythology and Clash of the Titans (og film) was my shizz as a kid.
Keep this charity shop cex flip series. I do this too but buy off ebay to flip and Facebook market etc too. Had some cracking scores recently.... Also, love the Odyssey Statue, big fan of the Greek Mythology too and I absolutely adore this game, just bought the Atlantis add-on that was in sale on PlayStation Plus store too so enjoying that... Got 110 hours into it. Riding around on a fire horse or unicorn is fun 😂😂
i loved dexter! i watched every episode one month! that was a LOT of tv. the value controllers are what im making most of my money on recently. i love it! some great looking SEs. if only we had space for them all. lol. great pick ups!
I have never watched it mate, I have to pick series carefully as I don't have much spare time. And absolutely Eddie...loads of value in controllers currently, even Wii remotes which no one wanted a few years back. Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
Hi matey, quality as always ... Cannot believe how many games your charity shops have !!! Visited 6 shops last week in one afternoon, nothing at all ! So well done buddy
Boom that’s how it’s done lol. Amazing Callum. I was wondering how much credit you’d accumulate and the figure just went up and up lol, unreal. Fair play mate that was some good hustling and you got something for your collection that you really wanted, with credit to spare. Very impressive. Great stuff mate.
Thanks Dylan.... this is what I have been doing for years, just only recently started to show it a little more on video. Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
I absolutely respect your hustle Callum. Quick and easy profitable flips. That special edition is amazing. I only played the first two games on PC. Just about anything I find sealed for cheap enough I’m holding onto. Planning the day around doing other things as well makes it more enjoyable as you mentioned. All the best to you and your family.
Thanks Jeffrey.... absolutely man, flip it quick and easy is what it's all about! And that's exactly it, make it fun and enjoy the journey regardless of what you find. Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
Secret Shops! I love it! Punisher is so good, I always hoped for a sequel. That AC collector's edition was nice too. I've just recently picked up the last 3 games in the series to give them a chance. I wasn't a fan of the series before, but the changes they've made look promising and I love the set pieces of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. I really hope I end up enjoying the games, hah. A great video as usual, thanks!
Those games were cracking finds, I have found a number of these in my local charity shops. Lemmings is such a classic and mega games 2 is worth picking up but only really for collecting purposes unless its dirt cheap. Funnily enough I found punisher for ps2 in a charity shop for a quid once and still own it.
Thanks Danny, yeah absolutely... imagine finding those games for a mega drive if you didn't already own them.... Those were the days.... just started playing Punisher today, enjoying it thus far. Thanks for taking the time to watch man 👊🏻
Great video and I’ve subbed. I essentially do this as part of my business but obviously I do have to factor tax into it & it’s great to see others do it . One thing I would say is your Charity Shop are way way better than any that I’ve been to in the UK. . Secondly sometimes it is worth getting the cash as well because the credit price can be so close to the cash price on some things. The main problem I have is the time to take them in . I’ve literally got many hundred DVD box sets to take in as they don’t take them online now. Lastly you’re very lucky to have a local CeX that has a cleaner and does it for free . I’ve visited the shops all over the country and most franchise ones don’t have a cleaner anymore and even if the shop has a cleaner they don’t polish for free and charge a quid or so. 👍🏻
Thanks Tom appreciate the support. Yeah I have been fortunate enough to forge some good relationships with CEX stores and charity shops, which certainly helps. Sounds like you have some gems hidden away Sir. Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
Great stuff! Can't beat finding megadrive games!! As my charity shops are always priced at £2-3 on games there's not much if anything left in profit but if its close enough to the trade in value I tend to pick them up. Not as lucky as you with the prices callum 😉😂 As you say if its fun keep doing it and I'm having a lot of fun 😊
Great video Callum, some sound advice when it comes to hardware and being mindful about whether or not CEX will take it or not such as that pink DS. So many times I've picked stuff up that they will not take, but even more annoyingly they WILL take in the other branch of CEX! Keep up the good videos man 👍
@@RetroGhetto maybe I don’t get good stuff cause of school that takes up basically my whole week what leaves me with the weekend when everyone has probably been out in the week
I think what people need to realize is that deals ARE there but they are not the deals they USED TO get. If you’re willing to put in the work and get $5 here, $10 there, that value adds up over time. You’re showing us how to do it in the current market and we just need to change our mindset. Great finds and trades my friend. Building the collection without breaking the bank! Awww love the story about the “secret shop” so cute. Please tell him I said hi ❤️
You talked about wheeler dealer,, you're a bit of a wheeler dealer yourself mate LOL, it's great that you have the eye for these things and know how to turn a little profit
Yeah you learn a little each day about what has value etc.... honestly I enjoy the hunt which helps its not all financially driven. Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
First time watcher and now subscriber. Really enjoyed the video. I would have bought the DS Lite. I get the risk of outlaying £30 but if you can test it there or take it back then it's an easy £20. Have to buy a lot of MGS games on the PS3 to make that!!
"Secret shops" I absolutely love that 😁 That oddysee medusa statue is brilliant mate Punisher is a good game, the executions are very brutal but in a good way lol Great to see the wheelin and dealin goin on, top stuff man 👍
😅 bless him. Yeah I love that statue mate, very cool. I've started Punisher and enjoying it thus far. Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
Its great when do well at the charity's like that. Good buzz for sure. I got a WII U balance board boxed with wii U fit game and fit bit at one the other day in mint condition for a fiver. Also, I always get Maguires plastx headlight cleaner. Its great to use on clear discs to buff out small to medium scratches. Always helps incase cex don't take them or have a disc cleaner.
You're lucky you don't live in London mate, you wouldn't be getting any vouchers as there's F all 🤣 I don't buy games but I do have a look and the only ones you see are the sports games, mainly FIFA. Good vid 👍 COYG!!!
Its definitely harder in bigger cities, but im confident I could find things, I've learned a few tricks over the years . Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
I work in a household waste recycle centre and get a big full a week of controllers and games. Find some really high end up gear to. It's crazy, we are definitely a throw away society.
Timing and persistence is key. I went to Walsall near me and picked up 10 OG Xbox games through charity shops and pawnbrokers in one day. Never seen any since but still live in hope 😅
There definitely is still games in charity shops, just not as frequent as people want. I think people just want retro and nothing but, sadly them days are gone but from time to time you will hit a gold mine. I recently found a decent Mega CD bundle but that will be the only one I think ill ever get.
Absolutely mate, it's just a number game.... id love to show people how many times I leave empty handed.. not sure it would make for a great video though 😅. Thanks for watching 👍
charity shops have such a bad stigma in the uk, my mate went there the other day and got some vapor max nike shoes for 40 quid and they were brand new nothing wrong with em up too £180 brand new. i pop in now and then myself
There aren't many games in charity shops anymore because musicmagpie got their grubby little hands on them 😂 sucks but it is what it is. Also where do you live as my charity shops have nowhere near the volume of games yours do 😂 honestly be lucky to find 5 games priced at £2-3 each and normally they are shovelware. I just sort of evolved and now look for other items like clothing to flip on eBay. It's so easy to find expensive clothing in charity shops and works well. Great video as always mate
I've just gone past €500 in CEX vouchers from charity shop finds. I still have €100+ of stuff that I need to clean up to trade in. Then of course I have the bits that are too scratched for them to take (like 2 copies of Simpsons Hit and Run) that I'll have to try and sell myself. I definitely agree with the DVD boxsets, I check every boxset I see because the most random ones can be gold.
@@RetroGhetto i rem my mum working in a charity shop a good while she got me loads of ps1 game and a lot of them was still in the wrapping i got a good amount of the voucher in cex mate
I usually pick up some decent dvds at below market value. Picked up the road to el dorado on bluray for a quid a while back. I honestly have no idea what the cex price is as they don't list it but a Google suggests it's a very rare title in that particular format. Most of the stuff I pick up I keep though. But it's always nice to know i can eventually trade it up when I need a clear out
Wow, what a great haul you got for the trade in. I need to do this myself at some point. It's cute that you do this with your son as a father and son duo, you're a great dad for that. Also you mentioned in your 24 hour CEX video about "if you're from Derby you'll know about this" I can't remember what it was, but does that mean your from Derby?
Thanks Jam appreciate itand yeah thankfully little man loves it as much as I do. Yeah Derbyshire mate 👊🏻 Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
Another great video as usual also could you rate my game buys from Leicester CeX I got sonic adventure battle 2 players choice GameCube 15 pound wii fit plus 1 pound Mario and sonic at the Olympic winter game 8 pound Nintendo land 6 pound and sega superstar tennis 2 pound 50 also one last question what’s the best way too organise game collections I’m struggling to organise my collection
Thanks Reexe, appreciate the support, best way to check pricing is by using Ebay sold listings or the CEX app, just use those as a reference. Thanks again for watching 👊🏻
£4.50 is a lot if you pay £1.50, I view it as a percentage increase return on investment as opposed to the £ amount, it all adds up. Thanks for taking the time to watch , appreciate it 👊🏻
Some are Rob absolutely, I try to concentrate my efforts on the ones that have a fixed price for items. I wouldn't say it's a luck as it's effort and consistency too. Thanks for taking the time to watch, appreciate it 👊🏻
I think ps2 was the last console where you could buy a game and it was the full game and since then a big chunk of the games content have been DLC useually for extra money and that is quite bad for collectors who want the full games.
