I saw him defending diddy before the cassie video and I think anybody who isn't going hard on diddy after seeing him do that to her is probably trying to do damage control, all the allegations from people before that video came out helps with validating them and all the people tied to diddy who had an idea about all the stuff he did to people and even participated, I hope they go down as well. It is though. Men don’t take mental health seriously because societally we conditioned men to think it’s weak to ask for help. That crying is weakness and feminine. That’s the patriarchy. Then they project that pain on to people often women to exert their dominance. And men don’t take anything women say seriously unless they see other men they admire taking it seriously. They don’t listen when the speaker is a woman. If Jay z came out tomorrow saying you’re corny as hell for hitting a woman and it’s despicable . If Tom Brady started talking about how he goes to a therapist to work through his stress over family issues. Little boys, young men, hell I’m sure a lot of flagrant listeners would take that in and see their heros not being weak for needing help. It’s on men to step up and start advocating for other men to seek help and be the voice for women. Men only take things seriously when it comes from other men.

@8:24 thank you for sharing this story akash. Not an easy one for a man to share, how dv triggers young kids and the residual effects it has on them and their relationships as they age. Either repeating those same patterns or becoming someone who is adamantly against abuse and believes women when they speak up about their abuse. I’m sure other men who witnessed and experienced similar things will feel seen when they hear how this personally effected you and probably still does. I agree and I dont agree. I agree on Thee Issue...cause Ive been saying the same exact thing. People dont really care about the issue...cause if they did, ppl wouldnt support half the industry that has similar & same allegations on them. Where I disagree is that I dont agree to take the heat off of Diddy, just cause ppl dont really care about the issue. No, he can get that deserving heat too. So it is what it is.

sometimes partners cant afford to get out of the situation...and can't afford to stay. also, for regular folk, there needs to be quality free rehab so abusers under the influence can get help and try to stop the cycle.
