Please don't think that I am just some western tourist who does not understand the beauty of these animals. I have loved and learnt about them my whole life, and when told I was very sick, my first wish was to look after them before it was too late. I volunteered at the reserve, feeding, cleaning, etc for the pandas for 2 weeks before I got to "play" with them.
I am Charlee. It's my video from when I fulfilled a lifetime dream of volunteering at the Wolong Panda reserve. Sitting with the toddlers and playing with the babies was a major treat to end the experience. People may focus on how large I am, but right then having gone through chemotherapy for suspected Crohns disease, and being very very ill, it was the last thing on my mind.
When I was 14, I went back to my native SiChuan and visited Wolong. I had a 6-month old panda on my lap and he started gnawing on my shoulder. I was terrified but it didn't really hurt. It was a terrifying but extremely cute situation. My uncle still has video footage.
Calm down people, why is everyone talking smack about this lady. Of course shes a little freaked out just like anyone with no expwrience would, im sure theyre scratching her and it hurts, but shes trying to be a good sport and shes enjoying herself...get over yourselves people
I keep watching, its so cute. They just want to play play play and they thought, here's a nice new friend .You truly had your hands full.Mommy pandas has a hard time with 1 baby that age so I give you alot of credit being by so many.again thank you
What a beautiful video! You too Charlee! Ignore the negative comments...I just don't understand why some people (the Haters) seem to get such a thrill out of putting down others. Maybe they're saying hateful, mean things to try to bring you down to their level (in the gutter). Don't listen to them. What a wonderful experience! I'm SO jealous! You were beaming!!! How BEAUTIFUL!
They are half bear half cat, they bite because its natural and its also their way of playing. Much like a kitten it's very cute but the teeth and claws are VERY sharp.
We used to have a baby bear as pet at the ranch, so I know how they are. Cute, but strong. You are so lucky to be able to be there with those creatures...
I've never really seen baby pandas bit like this before. They are a little bit bigger then I usually watch. It's almost like she was sprayed with bamboo scent or something, LOL!
Thanks MsLoriGold for trying to educate away the ignorance that still remains around these issues but sadly I think some people just enjoy being hurtful. I say "sadly" as their lives must be very empty, so I guess we just ignore them and get on with our lives. Indeed the video was not posted for me to invite comments upon my aesthetic but to show the enjoyment and fun that these little baby pandas brought to my life that day. I felt so lucky to be there and wanted to share my joy.
omg you are so so lucky to have met all those cute pandas wish i was their too i love pandas im in the UK and now we have 2 on loan in Edinburgh zoo i think thats where they came from
Awwwww! I want to get mauled by baby pandas toooooooo :) They love you, Charlee! What an amazing blessing that must have been. I have always loved pandas, so an experience like this would be Heaven on Earth for me. So glad you got to experience this ~ and yeah, a bit jealous too ;)
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! And kudos to the camerawoman who stayed focused on getting one solid video, sounds like there were tons of fluffy, cute distractions around her ankles too ;-) I have a question I hope you can help me with... It has been a lifelong ambition of mine to volunteer at the Panda Reserve and work hands-on with these little guys, so please could you tell me which company you volunteered with, and did they do everything they promised they would?
nice movie! I was born in Sichuan, where pandas are from. My dad told me when he was a kid, pandas showed up frequently in our local mountains. But the fast industrialization since 1980s destroyed their habitat in our county, pandas couldn't find enough bamboos, then they had to eat wheat, corn even bamboo rats, in the end they sadly left their home for bamboo forest. Thanks for the establishment of Wolong Reserve and the mandatory conversion of farmland to forest, now pandas can get enough food
I'm amused when the two tried to nom your legs, they're like yay hugs! *nom nom nom* soo cute xD oh and ignore those idiots they're most likey still kids who are immature and self absorbed
