WARNING: FLASHING LIGHTS/STROBE EFFECT Mrs. B rocks out to the Blondie classic with a crown from Burger King (???). Documentary footage added for effect (original remake of the instrumental)
damn, all joking aside it was a poor choice to use so much flash. wouldn't want to show this in a classroom and actually cause someone to have a seizure.
fr lmao i remember watching this in 7th grade history and the teacher wouldnt let the epileptic kid leave so he had to put his head down while she was yelling at him while this was playing in the background
@@Gramp1 He can sue them on attempted murder charges. That's a personal attack on a medical condition. They have a right to remove themselves at any time to prevent personal harm. They would definitely be fired and barred from ever working at a place with children and possibly anything with public relations. That sounds easy to win. People around them can sue for having to experience trauma. Despite belief, teachers do not have a right to verbally abuse people. Yelling is an illegal act for teachers. They are not aloud to punish people. I've gotten plenty of teachers fired. I even got an entire school board fired in 6th grade. They are not aloud to play they have a right against what is aloud. It's bullying. I've straight up got some of those teachers to leave crying with honesty. They are not aloud to take your chair away, and they are not aloud to touch you. Even if it's to spit out gum. Even grabbing your arm is physical assault. They can't even follow you out of a scholl, and they're not aloud to go find you skipping school. If you were at a store, they cannot leave the school to go find you there. That's stocking and possibly kidnapping if they attempt to remove you and take you somewhere. Just even if that's school. Lots of things they think they can do, but they know they can't. A teacher really can't do one thing if a student walks out of class. A teacher can't even call the cops in a lot of cases. They have to report it to their superiors, and it goes through many levels before a decision is made to do that. Even then they are limited to what they call for. Writing on a desk is not one of the things that they can call for. To be clear, they only have obligation to teach. That's the entire job, nothing added.
My history teacher broke out into dance in the middle of the song and someone started throwing singles and sang the chorus "Charlemagne! Make it rain!"
When our teacher showed us this video he looked really impressed and interested as everyone else stared at each other because this is so cringeworthy....
My ancient history class loved this song so much we watched this video anytime we had extra time. Also the whole song was my teacher's lesson plan. It was dope. I love Cas.
My French teacher used this during the history segment- back in 2010. This song is permanently stuck in my head so I come back here every few months and listen to it again
Awesome song! We're learning about Charlemagne in class right now and our teacher showed us this and we all loved it! We keep begging to hear more of your songs in class. Whenever we hear this the other classes shut their doors because we start screaming "CHARLEMAGNE!!" when you do. (;
Gads. I can ever afford it, I will pay someone to take out all the flashing. This might result in one of the great masterpieces of history. I would take that chance.
Completely agree. There is something beautiful about her singing an ode to one of the greatest men that walked this planet. An ode to excellence most needed.
80s girl rock meets Medieval History! This is the best pop culture treatment of Charlemagne since Pippin. But my favorite way to remember the HRE (Holy Roman Empire) is the following: "It wasn't holy, it wasn't Roman, and it wasn't much of an Empire." The HRE was actually in more-or-less present-day Germany, as the vid points out it was involved in a lot of wars, and compared to empires like Russia, the Mongols, various Chinese Empires, and much later on the British - the HRE was tiny.
My class were shown this. It's now been burnt in our minds. When its silent, suddenly someone will exclaim "Charlemagne!" and then we begin to sing. It's...yeah
My teacher showed us this in 6th grade and one time when I was completing my notes sophomore year in my honors world history class I was too tired to give a thorough answer so I just linked this video. Now when I see it the flashing hurts my eyes. Wish they would've kept epileptics in mind when they made this
I had to watch this in my 7th grade social studies class.... Haven't laughed so hard in a while 😂 me and my friends would just shout this in the hallways and a lot of people would respond with the other lyrics.
@badboysRhawt22 Missi Dominici - means "servants/messengers of the lord king"...Charlemagne sent these guys around to supervise /check up on the regional lords of the empire and make sure they were executing his will...a great idea to keep tabs/control on one's regime
bro my history teacher showed me this and i nearly had a seizure, ive never dizzy walked my way out of a classroom so fast. otherwise sounded great when i was outside the classroom.
Oh my, how thou art dangerously beautiful. Seriously, woman - totally mezmerized here. That dancing is so cool! And those eyes, those killer eyes, all coming from Blondie to this crazy awesome rhytm and ahh, this is so hypnotic. True artists, you are.
@MedievalGal - Yes, the height was taken from a passage from Einhard, Charlemagne's secretary/biographer..."He was 6 ft 4 inches tall, and built to scale. He had beautiful white hair, animated eyes, a powerful nose..." -probably not the same measurements we use now
William the Conqueror's descent from Charlemagne was through William's Breton grandmother, Judith. Charlemagne's "nephew" Roland was Breton too. Another descendant of Charlemagne's was William's Breton "nephew" (actually, double-second cousin) Alan Rufus who commanded the royal household knights and did such deeds of prowess and gallantry that Geoffrey of Monmouth based a certain legendary king on him.
Charlemagne is often pictured as an elderly man during the Roncesvalles event, but actually that was early in his reign, decades before he was crowned emperor.
Yesenia rolon This was one of their earlier videos. Mr H was trying out special effects. And since it was based on a Blondie song..... (I think Blondie once did a stage version with flashing lights.) I myself wish they would re-do it and get rid of the flashing. Sadly, that appears to be impossible. Mr H has moved to the Big Island. Mrs B... quit teaching.
We watched this in class and i stood up and started singing along while dancing, people told me to make a cover and that they would buy my mixtape 10/10
I just watched The Divine Comedy ("Rapture" by Blondie) and liked it, ive really never got into watching this kind of videos but they do a good job by making there own words to that music, I know I could never do that, LOL
I’m almost sure kids at my school got seizures front this... DAMN YOU HISTORY TEACHER but also we kept laughing because we thought she kept saying chow mein
@historyteachers I love this song. I have a huge test on this on MON! This is helping SOOOO Much! I'm doing my Charlamagne HW now! lol. our teacher showed this in class, and she said she e-mailed you...hmmmm...love the songs...if only my teachers had shown me this 3 years ago i would have had a 100 in history!!! lol thanks so much!
Danke !!!
Yup, if one took out the flashing effects, Mrs.B, this could be your most popular video on the net. I think even Debbie Harry would be impressed. The "flashing" is the only thing about it people do not like about it. Else, it is pure "H" genius. And you sing and dance so .... are there any words sufficient? Nope.
chixilaramalho Sadly, Mr H moved to the Big Island. Mrs B quit teaching. We must beg HER to at least sing on their Facebook page. They are some great songs (no Vids) of Soundlclouds
