"Charlemagne" "British tank" excuse me what the fuck, i thought it was a french tank

This tank has such terrible DPM and high ammo cap, you can start firing as soon as the game starts and still have 10 rounds left when the 15 minutes are up.

I like this tank. It feels like they're making it weird and gimmicky and fun without just giving it an autoloader or autoreloader, or siege mode and whatever other things they've added.

Lobbing slow shells at long range with rng aiming is like throwing darts at a bullseye while being drunk

The tank commander is a fucking goblin that voice had me cracking up

For a target, moving cross your field of fire at 50km/h at 300m range, equivalent to 13.9m/s, your standard shell takes, 300/579=0.52s to reach the target, which means target has moved 7.2m. T-54 is capable of moving at this speed, and its hull is 6.04m. That means you have to lead your shot 20%-120% of the hull length of to hit the hull; 20% to scrape the back end of the hull, and 120% to scrape the front, so anywhere inbetween is a hit. That may not seem like a lot, but considering how the aiming system works in WoT, if 60% of hull length ahead of a moving tank you have your aiming circle on the ground far in the background, for your slow shell to hit that spot, it has to leave the muzzle at a much higher trajectory, meaning your shell won't get anywhere near where the target will be in 0.52s. In the same situation, if you load gold AP, the target will only move 4.5m instead of 7.2m. Meaning you only need to aim at the very front end of the hull to hit somewhere in the back half of the hull. Above calculation is based on shells travel at straight lines. If taking trajectory arch into consideration, the slow shell needs to lead more, and more likely to miss.

Historically , if I remembered the project was for shooting HESH round across range , velocity didn’t matter. But hey, it’s WG, they gave it AP.

that aim time alone makes this tank seem like a headache to play

A British tank called the Charlemagne? Might as well call it the Martel or the Napoleon. What a load of old sweaty bollox. QB I don't know how you maintain your enthusiasm for this game even if you make a living from it. Fair play to you.

Something to be aware of: the slower the shell velocity, the higher the gun arc on the tank. Usually guns that have this kind of characteristics are... howitzers. When you lob HE shells at low velocity with poor penetration, and no normalization, the penetration mechanics are not exploited to their full extent. A high arc, slow moving AP shell which retains a good pen value over 500m, will hit sloped armor already negating angling effectiveness. Add in the 5° degrees of normalization upon impact, and I suspect this tank has a WAY higher penetration capability than it seems.

1B.. 1B's and Tier 9 Premiums. Nice. The sweetspot of the MM is fucked.

The shell velocity has to be the worst feature of this thing.. Not worth the 15k bonds at all imo although I'm a muppet.. But that one doesn't need an Einstein to figure out lol

Leading shots on moving targets in this tank will be a nightmare. Fast shells travel flat, slow shells arc high into the air. For slow shells the terrain you aim at (in front of your target) will apply a vertical trajectory to your shell which will sometimes mean that the shell will cruise way over the top of your target and land on the next map. Otherwise it looks kinda fun and memey

It's certainly a very unique tank. Don't know if I'd drop 15K bonds on it or would rather drop 12K on the FV 215b first.

Obviously some tanks were designed to encounter and counter specific types of enemy machines. So how well you do in a mixed arena like WOT depends on how well you command your tank. The Pay to win ammunition is 55% faster than the normal one. You should really highlight such things imo.

Is it over powered? No. Well done War Gaming not making a mistake and over tuning it. The Charlemagne is good at some stats and poor at others. It gives a rather unique and well balanced product. Excellent news. This tier VIII will not damage game play in all tier VIII games. Well done WG for balancing a reward tanks.

It's like a high tier Matilda with the howitzer derp gun (which has a shell velocity of mere 182 m/s). Probably fun, but about as good as its shell velocity.

It reminds me of a upgraded T5 Matilda well at least the turret.

This tank is a rare BALANCED tenk, it has great stats it has horrible stats, balanced!

All you do in this tank is reload during the whole game, exactly like italian heavy tanks!

You could arguably drop the rammer too since the DPM is awful anyways and just hope you get to trade single shots as much as possible. That being said I'm not sure what I would take instead, more HP maybe?

The Centurions weigh the same as this... not really a heavy except for it's gun. And even then the British heavies are known for their decent guns...

They just make tanks with 2 same types of ammo where the premium is better than standart in every way. Not like most old tanks that have APCR or AP and HEAT as gold where you actually have to think at what you fire. Or atleast you used to, now that HEAT rounds penetrate walls even that thought process is gone

I seriously wonder wtf WG thinks at this point when it makes up these new tanks. I mean, it has light tank DPM, tier 5 derp gun shell velocity. Unless you have it already you'd be insane to pick this over the Concept 1B. Also.. Has anyone been dumb enough to spend 10K bonds for a style for either of those tanks?? Like seriously WG, what muppet would spend that much just for a 3D style for a tank?

finnaly a tank with great advantages and great disadvantages. WG seems to start to understand how much BORING it is to play over and over again the same almost SIMMILAR OP tanks. The shell veloctiy of this tank is just perfect to make it unique and HARD to play with. Finnaly WG stop listening to ppl that cries about ANYTHING that has to do with RU tanks and the opposition of them and at the end to keep them happy you jsut create STUPID BORING AF tanks. Bring back the old BIG MAPS and this game will slowly rise again...cause now lets be honest...Its at deep bottom.

This tank is another middle finger from Failgaming making you grind ranked and to spend bonds on a bad tank. FG has put no thought into this tank and just wants to spend money in one way or another by making you play ranked.

I’ve never played ranked before. Is it difficult to get to division 2?

I hardly play and I would be interested in selling my account, do you know where I can and for how much would it be a reasonable price? I have many Premium Tanks and I am sorry to have them obsolete.

0,44 is great accuracy, while 0,34 is terrible. Seems to me some tanks have a better coefficient for hitting towards the center of the aim-circle. Just like in WoWs, there is a sigma coefficient on your guns. I always seem to miss my shots with the most accurate tanks in the game (like the Grille 15, Leopard 1).
