Huge loss all due to corporate greed. Would have loved to watch him on TNT for another 10 years. Chuck will be missed! Thankful we get one more year of Chuck on TNT.
Chuck mentioned a couple years ago that he’s not going to be doing this forever and his days were limited. His announcement has nothing to do with corporate greed but just his time has come
@@timetowakeup7394 TNT could have baught rights but they were cheap and let them go to the open market where companies like NBC and Amazon could start a bidding war but TNT had the chance they had the rights kind of like when player's current team gets dibs on resigning them and can match any offer from other teams if they dont make a bid themselves.
@@thegamingchef3304 i remember that too but damn why did you just make me remember also the Magic Johnson show(good lord looool) that lasted like 1 week maybe lool. okay 8 weeks
I have watched basketball since 1978 and remember Chucks rookie year in 1984. Mr. Charles Barkley will be missed and was the sole reason I watched the TNT show. His honesty is a quality seldom seen. Charles Barkley did in fact leave the game better then he found it. Good luck Chuck, not sure if anyone can fill your shoes.
none of these str8-faced guys can fill Chuck's comic shoes. it's gonna have to be either Gilbert or Lance Stephenson... maybe Dwyane Wade... or a real comic like ... hopefully not kevin hart, but even kevin hart... or like... man i don't know... Justin Timberlake plays basketball well, right? would be cool to see him do it for half a season... or even put a woman like Queen Latifah on there idk. Charles Barkley is one of a kind. SMH i hate draymond but he fits in decent on there. If it gets him to reitre, I'm all for it!
he was a fkn weapon in those early years. there's never been another player quite like him--a 6'4" power forward who could run the floor like a gazelle and throw it down like a damn thunderbolt
@@mh-rl4szI think people don't care what he has to say anymore it's cute for a year or 2 but he's getting old and bitter ...he got paid to play ball sometimes these guys like Larry bird chuck etc they act like people need to revere them for eternity lmao...we paid to watch you play ball we don't owe athletes anything
@Mufes-hv5cz Chuck's still funny though lol, watch barkley vs wade, when they 1 on 1 it's pure gold, and anytime Chuck guarantees you know where that's going, and when shaq is dying of laughter always gold hahaha
Got tricked goin down there with that dirty lil water, you can't even swim on that dirty water. I'd rather go to san antonio with with them big ol women down there and there dirty lil creek.
he has given us good 40 years, both on and off the court. Thank you ! I will miss him a lot, as a person he is one of the few that shows honesty, compassion and giving constructive comments and opinions, not like those bs pundits/players/public figures that just want to get eyeballs attentions enjoy your retirement as a grandpa, chuck
If he sticks to his word...that's the final death nail on any possible future NBA coverage on TNT after next year. No point for TNT to try to overpay for NBA games at this point.
@@robertnieto3742 GFOH - I've watched it and dude is as insufferable as an analyst as he is on the court. Chuck, Shaq and Kenny are adored. Draymond is and will be loathed.
This is so sad. I’ve been watching inside the NBA video clips every now and then on RU-vid ever since Kobe died. Fast forward four years later, we get this unfortunate news. Shaq and Chuck were the heart of inside.
THANK YOU FOREVER CHUCK. I'VE BEEN A FAN OF YOU SINCE YOU STARTED YOUR CAREER IN PHILLY, PHOENIX (YOUR BEST YEARS) AND HOUSTON. AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU CALLED AS IT IS, DOESN'T MATTER WHAT!! GRACIAS AMIGO!!! 🙏🙏🙏 GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS 🙏🙏🙏
Favorite player growing up, has always been the same guy, himself, open, honest, and the best ROLEMODEL in the game Charles fucking Barkley. Love you Chuck, totally understand why you are doing that. Peace
I Was An Undersized 6'3 Powerforward When I Was A Teenager Growing Up In Brooklyn. My Favorite Players Were Magic, Dr.J, Iceman, Alex English and Adrian Dantley. The Only 1 I Play Like Was Adrian Dantley. Then Came The MOUND ROUND OF REBOUND AKA Charles Barkley. AMAZING THAT A 6'5 300 POUND MAN Could Run,Jump, shoot, dribble and pass like a point guard. Sir Charles give me someone to pattern my game after, and I became a beast. Everyone started calling me baby Barkley cos I was doing everything on the court just like Barkley. I was the best 6'3 powerforward in NYC And Alabama
Charles Barkley is a great player and person 😊. The chemistry with those guys is amazing. The best team of announcers on TV when it comes to Basketball 🏀

Thank you Charles for all the laughs. We truly love you man. Your show is the only good thing in many of our lives, including mine. Thank you for all the years of making us laugh and taking our minds off the stressors of life
Charles never won a ring... Charles never won a ring like Jordan!!! That's what they say.. but he did something great too. He won the screen of millions and millions of people YEARS after he quit playing ball. If you ask me, that's just as good as any ring. Going to miss you Charles. You are hilarious.
I’ve never been huge Charles Barkley but he was one of the greatest to ever play. Yet his commentary has always been awesome and I thank you for you contributions to the NBA and all of basketball. Good luck in all you do
Inside has connected all hoop fans around the world. Some of the best laughs of my life watching these guys. Not only the great segments that amazing team put together, like Kenny Smith jersey on the clothesline 😂, but the off the cuff magic that kept us coming back for three decades. You guys cane into our homes with warmth in hard times. Thanks Charles and the Inside crew. You're like family, and while all good things come to an end, family is forever.
@@Thomas-fk3cw the way he call at is , its definitely over, Im 45 and much younger than chuck but I save alot, i earn from interest and royalties, retriring is so peaceful even if I got paid tons of money doing work that is so easy for me because I m expert on it. Retiring is so beautiful
@@joeymannyI hear you. But, they are going to wave so much money at him and make his broadcasting limited and palpable. He's a hot commodity, almost a one of a kind. He'll be back after a break. At least that's my best. Hard to walk past $20-$30 mill laying on sidewalk for a reasonable work load, no matter how well off you are.
Charles you have been a treasure to all of the NBA family I wish you and your and family a prosperous life. You have been a pleasure to watch and listen to. You deserve this relaxation of life you reach next! THANK YOU CHUCK!
He is an AMERICAN treasure and it’s truly disappointing that he has decided to retire but I think it had to do with all this BS with the TV negotiations
Chuck has been on my TV sets since his days at Auburn back in the ‘80s then with 76ers as a pro. He has become a Madden type figure for Basketball. As Chuck would say… without him we are just knuckleheads 😂 Life after Chuck will not be as fun.
They didn't demand, they got. Almost 1.75 more than the previous. The ratings are actually great. It's an international sport... 2nd largest in the world. They are fine
Not going to act like I've watched the NBA since 1999 but I always see the clips of Charles online and he's always saying what most people think and he's not afraid to say. Doesn't always work well with certain cultures but he certainly made his mark. He's got so much money, this grind can't be worth it. Time to go live life.
You’re a legend chuck . Thanks for all the memories as an all time great player and all time great tv personality with inside the nba . There will never be another inside the nba .
Dude is a real one. . Played the game giving everything a man could give. . And truly a class act as an analyst! Looking forward to seeing this next year Chuck. ❤
No……..IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME WITHOUT MR. BARELY! I was hoping that this day would not come this soon. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE JOY THAT YOU HAVE BROUGHT TO OUR LIVES. YOU ARE AN AMAZING TV PERSONALITY & I hope your year of celebration is Very spectacular.
I believe it was 1984 when my friends and I went to the Pan Am trials at the Olympic center in Colorado Springs where I grew up. Doug Moe (Nuggets coach) was standing right behind us and when I looked back…and up, he said to us “What are you stiffs doing?” With a smile on his face. We then went in and watched greatness unfold. Michael Jordan, Sam Perkins, Charles Barkley and others were about to be drafted. We had no idea who the “Round Mound of Rebound” was and he looked like he didn’t belong there. We were kind of chuckling about it in the stands. At the tip off, Charles was jumping center and we all looked at each other like “seriously? He’s jumping center?” Charles lifted off the ground like a rocket ship and immediately got our respect. Pure power from the get! Of course, an up and coming Michael Jordan stole the show but that’s another story. 🤣 40 years later Charles announces his retirement from broadcasting. Charles, you don’t know me… but I feel like I’ve known you for 40 years. Thanks for the great memories. One of the toughest players I ever saw.
Charles barkley was a favorite player coming up as a kid. No he didn't win a NBA championship. He won a couple of gold medals. I remember when he said he was not a role model. He is out spoken. Still he is still my favorite player
Charles is the man, straight up and raw truth when speaking to the world. Best part of inside, great story teller and comedian. I know i wont have much incentive to watch much nba beyond my 1 team's games after Chuck/Ernie and Inside is off the air.
also, as an Australian, i'll never forget when Shane Heal called Chuck a "cocksucker" at the Olympics-and Chuck was so taken aback and impressed that he invited Heal to come and play in the NBA
