@@vondon3387 Hard to notice bc he's a good shooter. Still the best floor general IMO. So good running the offense that his defense was always underrated. Barely shows but I think he's just a little bit slower and not as aggressive on defense. Same with LBJ. He's playing at such a high level that he gets nothing but praise... but I think he's lost a step as well. No where near as quick and I don't think you'll see him running anyone down and slamming their shot against the backboard anymore. Seems to get caught standing and watching. I recall several years when he could've received defensive player of the year. I don't see him being that effective on D anymore, although he had really good games recently against the Bucks and Clippers.

@@damn.1672 no doubt, not taking anything away from whatever trauma he's working through. Doesn't take away from the fact that it's noticeable through the cameras. Whether or not he's working through some shit is separate to whether or not I find his demeanor enjoyable as a viewer.

hirse abdi playing 1-5 on offense and defense is average now? I know we’re in an era of position less basketball but the whole small ball lineup was predicated on his above average defensive skills. I go back to my point about him not having the motivation or necessary pieces to play as hard as he has in years past this year: he’s an exceptional basketball mind with an incredible motor. He may not be top 50 all time, but his skills were never based around his ability to do one thing better than anyone else in the league.
