I can think of few things more genuine and sincere as a Charlie Russell painting. More American than Norman Rockwell-Russell was without artifice in his depictions. Thanks, Charlie, for getting it all down before it went.
The way Charles Russell captured the feeling and the moment of this period of American History is simply brilliant. I feel like I have been transported back in time by a painting...Amazing.
I lived in an old Victorian style house half a block away from the CMR museum where his home still stands. It made me wonder if he had ever spent time in my house during his lifetime. Thanks to him I get to see what my home looked like 100 years before I was born.
Very fine & beautiful art work sure enough! Just saw a story about Charles Russell. The wild West must have been a fine time to be alive as long as a body had the intestinal fortitude.
Does anyone know anything about prints? I have four prints from Dick Jones Picture Co "Jerkline" "Jerk Down" "Serious Predicament" and "A bronc to breakfast". They're pretty large and in frames
Ganz hervorragende Bilder ...Bei seinen Rinderdarstellungen hat er immer die gleiche Farbe gewählt. Vordere Hälfte des Tieres braun ..hintere Hälfte weiss.......immer der gleiche Typ . Helmut Aufrecht
