I've only been with Cadillacs for 46 years. That car, the Standard of the World. Built lovingly by people who lived by Craftsmanship a Creed, Accuracy a Law. The greatest American car...the greatest of all automobiles. In very detail beautifully exquisite.

What a beautiful machine. That upholstery is gorgeous!

My dad had the exact same Cadillac Fleetwood. Color was white, but had the blue / grey painted roof and blue / grey interior, just as this car. It was a beauty then, and still is a beauty. The wood trim was beautiful, the seats comfortable and a great ride on a long trip. We drove to Georgia and Florida from Pennsylvania several times. Would love to own it today! Don't make them like that anymore.

The turn signal indicators for the driver are on top of the fenders. My grandmother had a '64 base model until I was 8, and that's the main thing I remember about it.

My dad was a VP of a bank, and there was one rule no one working there could violate without being fired. Only the president of the bank could have a Fleetwood Cadillac. This one is absolutely pristine! GORGEOUS!!

As I recall, the 1964 Fleetwood 60 Special started the tradition of having a wreath and crest on both the hood and the trunk lid (with the "V" remaining on the 62 Series and DeVille models).

I had a 63 Fleetwood back in the 70s. It was white with white leather interior. What a wonderful road car.

The first car I remember my father having in the very early '70's, but it was a solid Palimino (champagne) colored Coupe DeVille. The car was like new and rode like a dream. You could not feel it running. My parents are almost 90 now and still mention that car.

Although the styling is toward the end of the mid-century era, it is still very "I Know!"-worthy. Still much glory to behold.

Even though the fins were coming down from 1959, it still commanded attention! Chrome, wood & still the perfect balance like a 3 course meal. Really digging that interior. I loved Fleetwood's or Sedan De Villes. There were a few Coupe De Villes I liked. But, Fleeetwood's & Eldorado's. Yes! let me have a couch in that fabric! Wonderful rare find. Thanks Charles & Joe for sharing such a beauty!

One of the best years for Cadillac, beautiful car!

Be still, my beating heart! Shades of the one that slipped away. I knew what I had in my pristine, 1965 Cadillac Sedan de Ville, intimately. I'd lovingly buffed every crease and curve of that luscious, virginal-white body, and the turquoise leather and fabric interior was to die for. As an Arizona car, there wasn't even a hint of pit rash on its acres of contoured chrome. But it was 1979 and I was straight out of college, newly married, living in the Wilshire District of LA and commuting 100 miles roundtrip to Newport Beach. Keeping that car gassed up was burning a hole in my wallet. And good luck trying to find space to park it within three blocks of our apartment. (Same with my wife's "ahoy-there" 1973 Chrysler Town and Country wagon/harpmobile, which she'd inherited from her late mom.) That caddy only had 70,000 miles on it when I bought it for $725 in the summer of 1975. I put another 30,000 or so and clocked it before reluctantly selling to my elder brother. By the time we'd bought a home in the Valley in 1983 and I was in a position to buy it back from him, it was long gone. Sigh!

Beautiful 😍 Cadillac. Sixty Specials have always been the ULTIMATE Cadillacs. As a kid we had a black beauty in our town. Always looked for it. A coworkers parents had a black 63 black Sixty Special. I was promised first chance when they gave it . BUT another son got the car and totaled it 🙄 within a few months. Have had 89 Fleetwood Brougham deElegance ( unfortunately let it go) 😕 and 93 Brougham ( not as true Cadillac as 89). Currently have beautiful 2007 TOWN CAR Signature Limited and won't let it get away. It's the last of true luxury sedans. Cadillac has made nothing since 96 Brougham to remotely interest me. So sad 😞 just makes your Sixty Special even more SPECIAL! 😃 😊

Informative & hilarious (Narration) video. Beautiful automobile. Back when Cadillac was on top of the world. My folks had the same year but the color was Fire mist saddle Poly coat. My folks bought it used for 200.00 in 1970. I loved that car.

Best line: 6 power windows...hello, welcome to America. Fleetwood BY Cadillac...a stand alone vehicle. Best interior design feature: the flaming red cap on the steering wheel. On the exterior: those gradually angled tail fins...well, c’mon.

My first car was a 1965 Cadillac Sedan de vile. I paid $500.00 for it in 1979. I was 16. It was metallic green and had all the features as this one. (Not as cool looking, but still AMAZiNG) I hated the color and went to Earl Sheib and had it painted black for $39.95. It was awesome. My sisters hated it and refused to drive in it. 😂 It lasted about a year when one day I was picking up my friend and went into his house. We came out and it was gone. It slipped out of park and careened over cliff. 😢 I’ve missed it ever since and only have one picture of it.

I remember getting my hands on a sales brochure in that era. There were so many models and trim levels.

Fantastic! Odd to see a car with no B pillar though. The fins are "just right" not like 59 stuff. I'm surprised small fins haven't made a return somewhere along the line.

I owned a 63 Fleetwood in 70/71. Charcoal with a black vinyl top. the ride was like nothing I have experienced to this day. Powerful and very good handling . It would go 110 to 120 MPH all day long with no effort, just relaxing driving. An amazing car.

I do adore those old Caddy’s there’s nothing else like them. They really were every bit as opulent as a Rolls Royce of the day but with a big ol’ V8 to move it all. And those seats look spectacular and feel better than any leather idk why they don’t make a comeback in luxury cars, I’d bet they’d be more sustainable as well.

1st year for AM FM, and no more tubes to warm up lol. Were the seatbelt retractors optional? What does the buckle look like? GM has beautiful chrome lift plates with sticker badges in '65, when front seatbelts became standard in January '65... C'mon, show us MORE!!!

i have a 1983 Fleetwood with 80,000,my favorite caddy is a 1959.

My mother had a 1968 Fleetwood with footrests in the back and always used to drive her crazy on long car trips between our home in Florida and dropping us off at summer camp in North Carolina. As a kid in those days; did not realize that not everyone's mother had a car like that. Eventually, that went away and in came the Rolls Royce and a Buick station wagon to carry the dogs.

Wow what a beauty! This is just everything. I will always take cloth over leather and the interior on this regal carriage is giving me every reason why. ‘63 was last year for the original v8 that debuted in ‘49…’64 had the the new 429 with the distributor in the front.

Very pretty car not many of those around with the Fleetwood body. Actually I don't think I have ever seen a Fleetwood and the amount of wood in there is absolutely incredible and that interior compared to a de vile so much more plush. Great video you add the drama it's perfect lol

That's a cool car; I love all the interior chrome and the rear vent windows. I'd love to try out that strange mirror adjuster; the only non-power ones I remember had the joystick with 3 cables. The only thing I'd miss on a '63 would be the 3" wheelbase stretch that returned for 1965, along with the rear footrests. Also, I suspect that '63 was the last year for the 4-speed Hydramatic, which must be an adventure in and of itself; I believe the '64s were the first with the THM along with the fabulous switch-pitch torque converter. Sadly, that disappeared for '68. Your car is in amazing shape for a 59-year-old car; I hate to imagine what a car like that would cost. Thanks for posting!

I always thought the main difference in the 63 and 64 models was the horizontal centerpiece in the front grill. The 63 was metal and the 64 was painted. That's the biggest difference I know of.
