After Wolverine had his adamantium ripped out, I figured Xavier would have a more aggressive response. I’m glad the show opted for a warmer, more healing-focused approach for dealing with Magneto.
@@armandoheredia1353I mean magneto was being better, humanity is the ones who force him to let them down. Deep down magneto can be a hero, but humanity needs to learn to be better.
@@Fourtytwo4242 Magneto was entirely in the right _until_ he refused to turn the power back on. That’s where he switched from an emphatic, but justified reaction to a dangerous and harmful offensive.
@@Night5225 Do you know how many mutants lost their lives because Xavier turned the power back on? Bastion's pet sentinels wiped out almost half of the species in that short time. *That* is why Magneto didn't want to turn it back on. The Earth's magnetic field would've repaired itself in about a month's time anyway, which was a sufficient window in which to come up with a more permanent solution to the Bastion issue. That aside, the whole point of (this) Asteroid M was to serve as a sort of precursor. He was going to create several more, as many as would be needed to house however many mutants would choose to come with him. After that, the plan was to terraform either Venus or Mars to create a new, peaceful home for them all to live on. He wasn't going to attack humanity. He was just going to pull a Moses and try to give his people a promised land to call home, away from all the war and strife mankind kept trying to force on them.
I think you absolutely missed the power in Charles' words. Also, on the 'singlehandedly' part, check the Prof X support in the background when Magneto wakes up.
There is The Punisher who’s identical to Magneto in that he suffered similarly to Erik by losing his family, and like Erik won’t hesitate to kill in mass when feeling justified. There’s also Bruce Banner, The Hulk, who was ruthlessly abused by his father who’d end up killing his mother. These two and others in the marvel universe are those that I wish Magneto would meet and encounter, the two I mentioned by name most of all since that could make for some very interesting storytelling.
Next season is gonna show Eric that Polaris is also his daughter, when he gets back to the presents. Magneto going through and facing his hard trauma reminds me of Legend of Korra. When she had to face nearly dying to reconnect to Raava.
This is an awesome showcase of Magneto's power. The entire team, including two omegas, tried and failed to even slow down Asteroid M, and as soon as Magneto wakes up, he effortlessly takes it off their hands.
@whipedge Jean is an omega level telekinetic. Probably the most powerful telekinetic, but her raw power still lags behind Magneto's when she isn't bonded to the Phoenix Force. He's had way longer to develop his powers, and he has a far better understanding of them.
@@tek512 yeah she's only omega telepath and alpha telekinetic confirmed in hox/pox....she didn't have the phoenix force when asteroid m was falling...exodus is an omega telekinetic
@@tek512 no, Jean is an alpha level telekinetic and an omega level telepath. The comics dedicated an entire paragraph on this topic, so it's definitely official. They used her as a specific example of how some mutants with more than one power can have different classifications for each power, then gave Jean as an example of a split Alpha/Omega and explained why.
Not to mention magneto doesn’t realize once he came back to his senses, that he’s back in a manipulated state of mind. So we probably won’t see an enraged magneto in ancient Egypt due to that
Not manipulated. Just temporarily relieved of his pain. It won't last, though. He will become far worse when Xavier's tampering wears off. Xavier doomed humans and mutants alike by forcing Magneto to repair the magnetosphere ahead of schedule, and he doomed Magneto to life as a broken man by forcing him to relive Auschwitz and Genosha.
@@tek512 agree. I know that his power is somewhat limited to his physical or mental state, which will dampen his powers. Again I would love to see a full power magneto vs apocalypse. In the original series both were nerf down. Magneto ran from horsemen who for the most part had metal gear
@@Lj-md9ng Happened in the comics. A weaker version of Magneto fought a stronger version of Apocalypse and tore him in half on the subatomic level. Was in the Age of Apocalypse timeline.
@@tek512 yea I have that one. Apocalypse himself mentioned in the first book of the series when Wanda died that magneto had lost half of his incredible power. I’m assuming when he turns hero
0:25 - the lady in green next to Rogue is Lorna Dane aka Polaris. Deep down Magnus knows she might be his daughter. She even worked for Charles as an X-Men!
There is an incredible moment in Days of Future Past where McKellen's Magneto says - "All those years wasted fighting each other, Charles. To have the precious few of them back" and then they shake hands. It always gives me absolute chills.
2:07 Ight can we just give a massive W for nightcrawler for praying, I mean come on, the one thing we dont see a lot in tv shows or cartoons is religious representation, and im a muslim, but goddamn i was damn proud of the representation of christianity in a quite adult marvel cartoon, massive W for my christians brothers ☪🤝✝
@@n3n3b3n3 honestly im not too sure if I am, but I get what you mean, but honestly im just trying to draw attention this detail that I just find underrated and under appreciated
I see more religious representation than I do anything else. Soooo many stories nowadays have pagan imagery and symbolism with religious roots. Its probably one of the most common things in cinema
0:28 Rogue on the boat 🚤 with Magneto’s kids Scarlet witch 🧙♀️, Quicksilver and Polaris (although Magneto’s children’s faces are obscured by the shadows.)
I’m surprised his kids didn’t play a bigger part on stopping magneto. But the writers just put them there and nothing else happened. They didn’t take part in the fight or try to convince magneto to stop. It’s like they were just written in for the purpose of showing them. 👎
This show is genuinely the greatest thing Marvel has ever done since the Infinity Saga. It has way more heart, soul and humanity than any of the garbage they put out in Phase 4. Unlike a lot of recent superhero flicks where a villain always ends up dying they handled this perfectly without making it feel “cliche”. Charles, instead of trying to destroy Erik, chooses to steer him back on the correct path and remind him no matter how lost he feels his family, the X-Men are still there for him. Giving Magneto somewhat of a redemption after all the bad he’s done by stopping the asteroid from hitting the city. I absolutely cannot wait to see what they are cooking for season 2!!!
lol the xmen has always had more heart and soul than any mcu project. even the fox movies portray more emotion better than all those avengers films. sure am glad marvel finally has a chance to work with their top franchise that they had to pretend didn’t exist for 20 years
I really hopw they keep magneto and charles working together as friends in the x men next season, we had enough of their tea already, their minds work better together
I feel like it would be too cheap to ruin it after this. They need to shake up the status quo and having Magneto as a permanent member of the team is a great shift.
I agreed. People are saying that Charles prope him. But i want a civilize talk. Regarleds of what they becomes after they return i don't want a argumant i a want a talk between friends that can't agreed in certain topics
This reminds me of days of the future past. They went in the past to stop apocalypse from destroying the world. Gambit will be one of the horse man. While the other new X-men will fight him in the present. That’s my opinion
Jean is telekinetic and Charles is telepathic. Jean can move objects with her mind and has some limited telepathic abilities, while Charles is the most powerful telepath on the planet with little to no telekinetic abilities. They are both exactly where they should be in this scene with Jean using her powers to try to stop the meteor while Charles is using his talents to try to talk Eric down. Additionally, magneto doesn’t have the same bond with Jean as he does with Charles.
@lskulski yeah, I meant why jean couldn't move the meteor herself instead of struggling to just slow it down , her telekinetic abilities have had better feats in the past I feel like On that note though jean is also an omega level telepathic who is stronger than Xavier's telepathy. The only reason Xavier was the one waking him is because of the personal connection.
@@afriendlycoffee-stainedtop9995 yeah, it was weird that jean couldn't move the asteroid by herself. Somehow, the meteor had a gravity comparable to earth, so maybe the whatever created that gravity made it as heavy as a planet?
@@lskulski Jean is both a telekinetic and a telepath. She's omega level in both, but her raw power is still nowhere near Magneto's level when she isn't bonded to the Phoenix Force. He's an anomaly even amongst omegas, though he still isn't the most powerful mutant. You've got reality warpers out there that make even the celestials seem like children by comparison. As for the gravity, that was being caused by its core. Magneto created a core for it that would both serve as a source of limitless energy and give it gravity akin to Earth's. Mutants, like humans, are reliant on the Earth's environmental conditions for their wellbeing. Asteroid M would've been a death trap for all who joined him on their journey to a new world if he hadn't made it so well.
I can't figure out why people see what Xavier did to Magneto as a good thing. It's not a permanent solution. All it accomplishes is causing his rage to burn a thousand times brighter the next time humanity goes after mutants. That aside, forcing Magneto to repair the Earth's magnetosphere caused the deaths of almost half the mutant population. Xavier is a monster.
There won't be a permanent solution but people accepting mutants and mutants accepting humans. Charles saved countless lives innocent lives that don't hate or torment mutants. That's what magneto doesn't seem to understand, he's trying to punish everyone for the few, just like some humans do to mutants. Charles is a hero
@@quintbakerjr2786 I can't help but feel you are missing context, so allow me to provide it. Magneto had a long term plan that would've helped *everyone,* not just mutants. The Earth itself was in no real peril, and the magnetosphere would've healed on its own within a month. What Magneto did to the magnetosphere was primarily to stop Bastion's toys, all of which shut down as a direct result of his actions. By undoing Magneto's temporary changes to the magnetosphere, Xavier allowed Bastion's creations to eliminate no less than half of the mutant population. A large number of humans were lost as collateral in the fighting between mutants and sentinels, but nowhere near as many. You've also misunderstood what I meant when I said it's not a permanent solution. What I said was immediately after, which provided all the context was: "all it does is cause Magneto's rage to burn a thousand times brighter the next time humanity goes after mutants.". In other words, Xavier's alteration of Magneto's mind is not a permanent solution to Magneto's problem. It fixed nothing and harmed both of them irreparably. My statement on this subject had nothing whatsoever to do with relations between mutants and humans.
@@tek512 Nothing will ever help or heal magneto's mind from his past but real help. The real question is in magneto's future plans as you say what happens when something goes wrong? Because it will, and how will he react then? Adversity and reaction is what I think villains can count on with magneto. All it takes is a push and he's back on the war path which leads to sentinels which leads to war
Magneto Lives!!!!!⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ Man I wish my Mom were still alive. She didn’t like the 90’s show at first but after a while I got her on board 😂. Her favorite villain/antihero was by far Magneto.
