_always beautiful video & saya ingin ke south caroline tapi disana saya bisa dapat tour guide nya? suatu saat akan kesana bersama clients group tour dari indonesia_
I am vistiting Charleston in Feb. 2023. In all the videos I have seen, this is by far the best. So informational! Thank you for taking the time to put this together!
What a beautiful way of seeing the world. I love following your channel, Renata and Gordon, and going on these journeys with you. Really appreciate all the effort you put into your videos.
I am about to spend 5 days near Charleston, and because of you and Gordon and these great vlogs, I feel so informed and inspired!! Your videos are so pleasant and fun, and so very informational. Thank you for taking us there and having wonderful smiles along the way!!
Moved to Charleston from Pittsburgh, PA ten years ago and absolutely love everything about it except the parking! You have an excellent channel- glad I found it!
Very cool! It feels like such a great city...not too small and not too big. And what food. Thank you for watching. Drop us a hint if there is something we missed in Charleston that you think should be featured
That is one of the most charming cities in the US. I hope to go back any time soon, my last trip to Charleston was 10 years ago. Thank you for sharing Renata 😊.
Fellow creator, just stumbled on your video. Your style is very good. Love what you had to say and yes you did your research. Lots of ghosts in the provost dungeon. Saw some things the with my own eyes.
I love Charleston, I visited the city back in summer of 2013, the whole city was filled with this amazing jasmine smell. This vlog brings back a lot of memories, I also went to many places like you did. Thanks Renata, greetings from Bali, Indonesia.
Amazing Charleston looks so nice and walking around looks so relaxing and so historic.its a place i would love to visit.if its possible.really loved your vlog. The 12 layer cake sealed it for me.But honesty its looks so pretty and laid back and safe.if i dont go i will have let myself down because its looks so awesome.Truly enjoyed the vlog.
Hi Renata. I hope you see this comment. I recently came across your videos of my hometown, Charleston. I was born downtown, raised on James Island and now live west of the Ashley, about a mile from the real settlement of Charleston. I run a community nonprofit that strives to bring pride and ownership to our community. Your vlogs represent our City perfectly and with complete and unbiased information! Thank you!
I live 20 miles from downtown Charleston I've been several times and I love it I used to deliver bread down there as a route driver, I've been on a lot of walking tours including the old city jail.. I could almost be a tour guide myself LOL
Thanks for your valuable time in finding n sharing facts n information of d places u have visited, n yes, it makes travelling n learning about those places much more interesting n meaningful.
One could take Charleston and plonk it down in almost any place in Europe and it would not look out of place. People say the US has no history and old buildings, they were looking in the wrong places.
Don’t forget the intertwining of Bridgetown Barbados architecture style. It’s where the row homes come from. European style mixed with Caribbean flair.
Oi Renata, I have followed you for a while now and let me tell you, your videos get better and better. Its like travelling along with you. Thank you for all the information and good vibes.
Aloha from Honolulu! I absolutely LOVE your videos, Renata and Gordon! You are a wealth of information, and I always learn so much from watching you! My boyfriend and I are visiting Charleston in about 3 weeks and I have taken notes from this video, especially that awesome 12 layer coconut cake and those grits!! Next stop for us after Charleston is the Hamptons, and I will check to see if you have made any videos of the Hamptons as well. Mahalo, Renata & Gordon!
Aloha Susan. First, enjoy your visit...it is a great city...you should have fantastic weather this time of year. No Hampton videos...but its on the list now.
@@RenataPereiraTV Thank you for your reply! Question: did I hear you correctly that guests are only allowed one hour on Fort Sumpter or was that only because of Covid? I can't wait to see your Hampton video although I wish it was out now for our trip in 3 weeks! LOL!😘
Really beautiful city something I would love to see in US than busy LA or NYC also Gordan looks very comfortable now facing camera and I personally love hos humour and reactions who ever is editing videos should give him more footages 😍😍😍😍 stay safe lots of love from India.
Thank you very much. Yes, such a charming city and walkable. Keep watching as we have another walkable city called Savannah coming up. I think you will like also.
As a resident, Charleston has such a beautiful history. I definitely recommend newcomers to take a tour they will love it🙌🏽 (also Mount Pleasant is good to check out too)
@@RenataPereiraTV Mount Pleasant is good for its beaches and coastlines. Mount Pleasant is also known for its fancy restaurants! So if you love to eat, Mount Pleasant is the right place to go👌🏽
We just spent a few days in Charleston in April and absolutely loved it! I wish this review came out before we went, we totally missed on that coconut cake!
There is a similar Pink House in Savanna. It’s my favorite restaurant there. It actually turned pink over time. I wonder if the same transformation happened to the stone on the pink house in Charleston.
I drive Uber and sometimes Lyft in the Charleston area. I was born and raised in the Charleston area (more specifically in North Charleston) and as all area kids growing up here had a plethora of field trips in the downtown area and tours. I try to give as much information that I've retained over my years. Very good video and cinematography to show some of the most beautiful locations downtown.
Loved this video. We just moved to Charleston a couple months ago and although it’s absolutely gorgeous, we rarely go downtown bc of the traffic and parking. Good tips though for when we do want to go explore and take our friends and family when they come to visit.
I used to live in downtown Charleston and do not drive. I walked everywhere (I only took public transport to go outside of downtown). I was my thinnest back then.
@@AnomolousGrandeur Ahhhh! We lived in Austin too!!! 2014-2018 😍😊, great memories. No, I meant that Austin’s growth is massive compared to other US cities 😉
Estamos amando. Grata!
Philadelphia Alley actually has many notable duels that happened. It was the place to have a duel in the city because the buildings on either side were built with thick walls, and they were close together so as to limit the possibility of any innocent bystander being harmed. Dueling was legal for a number of years in South Carolina. It was considered a more gentlemanly way of setting disputes of honor. The South Carolina Legislature pass a rule guidance for dueling called The Code Duello. Not abiding by the rules in The Code Duello could land you in jail and your duel being tried as an armed riot.
Thanks for visiting my favorite place i call home! The pink house was an old tavern. I have always been drawn here since i was a kid and first heard of the pirates and the revolution. How many sailors does it take to turn a church into a bar? U can find out in charlestons repurposed buildings on market that are now restaurants. The history is in the buildings. Its great seeing u enjoy stuff im almost bored with or too poor to buy :) it is a very nice place to spend time. I wish they developed everywhere with individually designed houses rather than mass produced blue prints in suburbia. Its so beautiful and i love how the city typically prioritizes preserving the history of charleston which is its own island of sorts. Its too expensive to really be materialistic here and hope for a home, but it is very wonderful to get to experience living downtown
So sad to hear. Why do you say that? I looked up tourism contribution to the economy www.crda.org/doing-business-here/economic-drivers/tourism/ almost $10 billion per year 47,000+ jobs for a metro area of 800,000 people I do know of high tech in the region...Boeing and others. Seems Charleston has an advantage many other cities don't.
Sorry to post a negative note but many restaurants sucks. Not a city to stay too long. Went to a suchis place 4 sashimis were $12!!! Nope a very expensive place to go. The best is to pass by there and do a stop for like 2 days
@@RenataPereiraTV it makes the experience as nope wont stay there, way better somewhere else where ill feel they want me to stay to spend my momey with them and having fun.. and not, give me the max money and get out of there fast
@@RenataPereiraTV i did but do you ask the same to people on the street when theyre talking to you?? We live in reality here not in virtual life... if you dont want any type of real talk please remove the possibility to comment dear
Myrtle Beach used to be a ghost town during the winter. Basically most of the businesses and restaurants would close for nearly seven months. But things have changed over the last 20 years and Myrtle Beach has become not just a tourist town but a huge draw for retirees. Many restaurants and businesses still close for the dead of winter, but it’s not a ghost town like it used to be. 20 years ago things even slowed way down in Charleston from Thanksgiving till almost March, but not anymore! Charleston is packed year-round now. But Charleston is much more of an adult tourist destination. Myrtle Beach is far more family oriented and caters to families with children.
@@RenataPereiraTV Sad but true. The biggest problem with the Yankees, LOL, is when they move here they feel the compulsion to tell us everything us dumb Southerners are doing wrong! Love your videos! You and your husband seem like a really great couple. Have you been to Beaufort? It’s near Hilton head and Savannah. They have hunting Island State Park which has an amazing lighthouse you would love!
