when will kids from 8, 9, 10 and up ever view their parents, teachers, and other "adults" around them as cooler then their friends and peers in the community. how exactly are you gonna tell a bunch of kids being in a gang is not cool, carrying gun is not cool, even if they have 2 parents and the best home enviorment, most kids wanna jump off the porch just to grow up a little and start being older and cooler and get approval from the older kids that he/she is not like the other younger baby kids. i dont think any parent wants their kid to grow up a gang member or totting pistol or being a "stepper" but just look at the 4 common races and how they grow up, you got white and asian toward bottom, they dont raise their kids to be tough or hard or anything like that, next hispanic they do it a little more but not like black folk, the entire community creates an enviorment where young kids are double or triple as "tough" then the other races. they usually dont have a dad so all their father figures are out in the streets other kids, the moms are much more aggresive then other race moms, beat their kids more often so that toughen kids plus keeps them out the home in fear of getting hit on by mom... now you got young kids who are tougher hanging out with older kids who are tougher, that shit is a recipe for disaster... peer pressure exists no matter the race or location but you bring the whole way young black men act and react to shit around them and have them start telling each other this kid is soft or pussy or he not a real steppa... cmon they gonna either do something about it to them or prove to them by doing something to someone else. i watched this hood interview of these street dudes one time talking about "what happened to the fair fight", thats what the interviewer kept asking different guys why no one settles they beef with a 1 on 1 fight... cuz think about it if it is just a 1 on 1 and no one trys jumping in when either side start losing then you have 1 of 2 options either you win the fight and now that dude embarassed with all the phones and social media someone somewhere gonna post that shit that this guy beat up that guy so now it lives on the internet forever how you soft and cant win a fight, girls see that dont wanna date you, you friends see that and clown you, now they gonna wanna get some retalition even if no one is making fun of them for losing they still lost they gonna come back around with guns and light up your block OR option 2 you lose the fight and hope they dont stomp your ass out and do real damage, wether you do it or not you gonna feel the same way the other guy did if he lost so now you brewing and shit waiting to get some revenge... fighting 1 on 1 to settle beef nowadays is a lose lose battle for both sides... thats why we keep guns on us and just shoot before anyone can even get close enough to fight.
