I’ve listened to this interview over a dozen times since it dropped. It’s by far my favorite interview of him. No I didn’t care for Cam Newton hosting him and thought it should’ve been someone else. Because he delivered some of the most realist and profound accounts of who we are a community as black people and who we are as a society at large. The message delivered here transcends any politics or ideologies.
What he told y‘all without you even catching it is that you prefer ignorant foolishness and classlessness as long as it’s on a beat but something positive gets no attention. That’s a very sad and hard to fix problem

@@therealclaytonbigsbyit’s not a hard-to-fix problem I wouldn’t indict it that way. It’s simple self accountability. Some of us fear the pain of the truth even though healing immediately happens. Pain is the adversity to change about and do right otherwise we are derelict of our purpose as a people.
@@DonyoSanghelei30 I understand your perspective. The reason I say hard to fix is because a crab cannot enter the pot to save the rest of the crabs without being destroyed by them. This problem is like addiction where the addict has to want to quit. You can’t want it for them. They must choose to seek positivity. When I was a child I thought as a child, I spoke as a child, I behaved like a child, but when I became a man I put away childish things. Way too many children in adult bodies is why this is hard to fix

I do agree with him on the fact that we worried about the wrong shit in life. We dying slowly and it's our fault at the moment. Yes, there are systematic issues that fucked up to begin with but at some point we stop fighting that and started fighting each other.
When Cam Newton started talking about the delivery, he destroyed his concept the man be telling the truth, and whoever don’t stand with him is not for us..
Cam promoting blasphemy dressing like madea while Charleston is trying to help people and point out our flaws. Cam plays the cool guy like a good puppet but truly he knows he has nothing to say worth any weight.
All the things that Charleston mentions, are things only we can fix...its not the government, its not poverty, its each and everyone of us, each black person has to wake uo and decide we want to have a better life, community, environment for ourselves and our children...we have to stop idolizing the wrong things...
