They love the feeling/texture of fabric tearing as they rip it with their beak. Took months to get a B&G to stop tearing holes in my clothes. Will still try if it thinks I won't stop it. Unthinkable to let it go on a couch ( or anything it can break by biting ). Majestic creatures. Difficult to tame and they can bite so hard, doing wounds that can require stitches. Great cardboard-shreading machines. Keeps their beak trimmed at the same time.
Well it’s a huge sacrifice. She requires a lot of care and attention. High vet bills , special food, loads of toys. The noise is something some people wouldn’t be able to handle. We love her so much and can’t imagine life without her.
Charlie wants to feed you, and digest his crop food in the process, like every bird that grows to love his flock owner. My pionus does this EVERY DAY. Unfortunately, yer clueless to this typical act in pet parrots.
