I don’t like the mom but in this clip the mom seemed to validate Charlie without putting Dixie down and she did a good job…. She said what she thought that it was a mental health comment that she probably didn’t mean and was sympathetic and said it can be hard to explain to someone that you need space from them because of their mental health 🤷‍♀️ maybe her interpretation was wrong but within her interpretation she both validated Charlie and supported Dixie

Well, I think it’s because Charli was the one who catapulted the entire family into fame and fortune, so they feel like they have to supervise and control Charli 24/7, which is fucked up because hello, Dixie’s famous too.
