She has this tendency to get embarrassed and then half-anguish over the vulnerability out loud but she just kind of presses on. She can also be very plainly confident. I very much see the vibe of "Brat" in her personality here, which is to say she comes across as genuine and authentic in interviews and in music. I think that a lot of people will sand off their edges - their embarrassment and their confidence - but it's very real of her to just be this transparent motormouth and i love it.
Charli speaking about her mostly positive experiences in the music industry dealing with men is sorta refreshing and that’s not to negate any female artist that has had bad experiences, because it’s important to highlight that as well. It’s just nice to know there are some respectful people who are passionate about making music and aren’t out to screw women over.
I agree, those stories are important but what’s the point of trying to make it better for women if we’re not celebrating when the hard work pays off and people are able to do their thing!
@@bebel0ck Yeah, that should 100% be acknowledged and celebrated. It was just obvious that Charli didn’t know how to answer that question because like she said, she was lucky to not have had any traumatic experiences in the industry
Its crazy how it seems the general public even charli didnt have faith and still dont dont see True Romance as a genuine cool album it was my first intro to charli and its still my favorite album of all time!
This interview its so good because the questions are interesting and her answers so raw talking about her experience on her career and artistry... love listening to her talking shes amazing

Of course there’s always a meta layer of inauthenticity, but her project is one of the first in pop to center around the artists relationship with stardom and the industry itself, which is something charli can actually talk about truthfully. Never watched a Charlie intvw until now after Brat. That part about using music as a tool to world build through her persona is very interesting. Also Billie does have a very cool aura and it seems natural. To have it figured out that young it's a gift.
The transparency makes her feel so proximal. I've pretty much iced every celebrity I've ever met but you couldn't walk past this one without saying 'hey'.

Amazing interview to really see into her head and her journey. I had been speculating about so much of it. I also find her incredibly relateable as cringe as that is to say theses days. Especially with the uncontrolled rambling haha. Incredibly valuable rambling. That guy who asked a totally generic question who clearly hadn't listened to the album tho hahahaha. I have so much second hand embarrassment for him.
Artist visas? You have to provide proof of your work having a certain degree profile, letters of reference from other artists, etc. Probably not hard for her!
Listening to the record, it’s evident that the ‘world’ is more thought about than the music. This album likely won’t age well but that’s not to say it isn’t relevant now.
