Yeah, I think those silent era films look so mysterious and of ancient times, so it's so humanizing in these later works where we saw Charlie, Buster or Harold, in colour, fully voiced and even narrating with sharp wit to us like they're a charming TV presenter of just a short time ago. I discovered Chaplin's music long after I stopped attempting to compose music for a career, but at the time I was in college, I probably would not have had many ways of seeing his films in decent format.
