OH GOD> You are kidding. How many outstanding motion picture achievements you have missed that have nothing to do with slapstick humor or a guy in clown shoes with a bowler hat. But the Chaplin cult rolls on....sort of like Scientology or Michael Jackson cult.
Which critic says this is "a masterpiece of WW I films"? How about "All Quiet on the Western Front"? Six others I could name as well. The Chaplin worship cult is worse than the Michael Jackson cult. But those who did serve, unlike the draft dodger from British conscription whom you worship, gave you and me the opportunity to have free opinions. Love Chaplin if you must but I won't. (I freely concede his importance to film history and on-screen talent).
Я, как мог, настаивал на том, чтобы мои фильмы оставались немыми. Я был актером пантомимы и могу без ложной скромности сказать, что в этом качестве равных мне было немного». Чарли Чаплин лучший Талантливый актёр и комик ♥️
I know it was just a comedy but with a very serious background! How clearly recognizable is the background the trench warfare in World War I. It was such madness to use this senseless tactic and have the soldiers run into machine gun fire. The logical tactic would have been to remain in the trenches and repel the enemy soldiers' attacks. Everything else was insane. In addition, the artillery fire made sense! It only made sense to attack when the tanks attacked first and the infantry could attack under cover of the tanks. Previously, the responsible generals would have had to accept the stalemate at the front without senselessly sacrificing the soldiers. It is a mystery to me that for years they tried on both sides to conquer the enemy positions with the same pointless tactic of running without any covering. Were all the generals just idiots? Or completely unscrupulous? I could understand if they had tried it once. But then they should have realized, after failure, that the price for such an attack was far too high. Unbelievable that the soldiers didn't rebel and obey orders to run to certain death. In certain situations, soldiers have the right to disobey.
Later in the movie, the Tramp turns the short German officer over his knee and spanks him for insolently tossing away a gift cigarette the Tramp gave him.
eu assisti pensando que era nesse video onde ele atira e marca que foi mais um abatido e quando ele vai olhar acertam o capacete dele ai ele apaga um risco porque não teria sido abatido eu racho de rir.
