most fans need to watch battles from scratch to know the history where it started because there is a story that can be followed which would bringem up to date with what's going on
a lot of people seem to forget that battles are more then bars....if its just about bars....and its "BARS OVER EVERYTHING" then both contestants can write some shit come up onstage and just read it off paper like a book... the battle is more then bars..... its more then just a line.... or creativity what is a bar without: delivery performance schemes personals.... its just another line... and itll take away all the effort these battlers put into their performance.... just imagine everybody sounding like BMAGIC when they spit (not saying he wack) but there'd be no individuality no one would sound different... they'd all have the same format clips got a major point here with this clip

BULLSHIT!! Nobody watches battles like that.. You sit & watch the "ENTIRE" battle 1st.. Give your 1st analysis, then if you want/need to, you give the the battle a 2nd, 3rd watch or how ever many times you want depending how debatable the battle is or on the replay value.. What I think Clips is trying to convey is that there's too much bias attitude by some fans before they even watch the battle.. & No matter what happens in the battle, you want your favorite battler to win & probably gonna say he/she won regardless.. & THATS WACK!!.. Its ok to have a favorite, just be fair with judging the battle.. Case & point.. B Magic vs Y Kannon.. B Magic is one of my favorites; I wanted B Magic to body Y Kannon but it didnt happen YK was the better man that night.. Did I stop being a fan of Magic? OF COURSE NOT.. My favorite just took an L.. Lmao. This is how I watch the battle... If I feel its debatable. Sometime you can clearly see a win and you can watch it without stopping it. It's like watching sports, everything has to be criticized to truly see who the best is. Charlie... You're the best in the game right now

Here in 2021 and still watch the whole battle for all content. Might watch twice to make a decision. Most times I don’t even mentally make one. I just enjoy the battle from both artists. Unless it’s just naturally clear that one is mopping the got damn floor with the other. Simple.

And to tell the truth there are faves coming into the battle and ppl will pretty much criticize every bar for the least fave. Basically criticizing the rapper you want to lose the most. Also make sense and understand anything that your fave rapper throws no matter what!
You nailed Clips! dudes watch these battles on some skip bayless shiii... There is no objectivity. Everybody follows their favorites, and acts like they can't lose.
I usually watch the battle all the way through, then I come back and analyze the lines on the 2nd watch. The reason I watch it all the way through is to get the overall context of what the battlers are saying, so I know what to skip and what not to skip. It's almost like reading a book with the SQ3R method, I use it for watching battles.
In the era of writtens, I definitely judge battles based on who has the best bars and overall performance. You just can't wing it like that any more for the most part.
