A fried of mine in Chicago, George Paulus. a blues and rockabilly record collector started his own Barrelhouse label and recorded Charlie in his basement and released an LP of songs. Charlie started out on Sam Philips Sun label with "Defrost Your Heart" and other cuts pure country as Sam thought Charlie was better at country style songs, but his King label cuts proved Sam wrong. He was terrific at both country and rockabilly. Charlie died young, but his talent is captured forever for us to enjoy. George's Barrelhouse label 1973 lp of Charlie can be found on the Internet along with his other LP issues of various musical styles. You won't be disappointed.

Fine country to rock n' roll transitional tune. Charlie Feathers popularized the basic sound that y'all know as rockabilly now-a-days. I call it rock-ass country, but whatever
