Everybody warmed to Charlie he was a beautiful person, with nothing bad to say about anybody and he backed his twin brothers up all through they’re lives and sentences if that ain’t a proper man and gentleman I don’t know the definition of what is.
'Backed his twin brothers through THEY'RE lives.......'. Getting THERE/ THEY'RE/THEIR (this last is correct here) right isn't rocket science. It's basic literacy that a child should grasp.

I can Imagine Charlie sat there thinking, "What the hell am I doing, talking to this fool, I wish I'd of stayed home and watched Corrie". Good ol Charlie........ the Artful dodger. RIP
Charlie could have been a star in his own right. A gentleman, excellent storyteller as a true Cockney legend. His life story would make an incredible film.
Ron McCulloch Charlie Kray WAS a genuinely nice man, great personality and it's disgusting how they stiched him up with harsh prison sentences as he was innocent.
Skinner spreading his legs wide open over the arm of the chair is the body language of a man drunk on the safety of the situation, away from the cameras he'd be sat bolt upright like a kid in church, I'm sure he'd agree too
Poor Charlie ,imagine as a little kid just being and doing kid stuff then all of a sudden your mum gives birth to Ron and reg lol what chance did the poor bugger have
Frank Skinner is typical of so many tv hosts who's job it is to act very silly & to avoid asking any interesting sensible questions . Charlie I sensed was very willing to communicate & share his life with an open heart . And that's what sadly , is generally accepted as ' entertainment ' . Frank's immature approach caters for an audience who don't really take anything seriously . He was way off the mark . A lost opportunity and just another guest to pass through his circus of uneducated dribble .
Not sure about this. Did he just bring Charlie on to take the piss a bit? Can't see him doing that with Reg or Ron. Bloody hell, imagine Ronnie sitting there! (shudders) Lol!
+freddybeer yeah I know. U can tell charlie is a nice guy. I think skinner was just try a get views and stuff. Would be good if Ronnie was there though. Lol.
mark caine WTF! are you on about you heard the man he wasn't involved !! Like he said he did a ten year stretch because of his name ! If you look at other interviews about the twins many people have said they got such a harsh sentence because of THEIR NAME ! The sentence didn't fit the crimes in their case or Charlies bless him it was because of the name he's being treated the way any human being should be treated !
Charlie was apparently the pacifist of the three. Very rarely did you hear any violence connected with him apart from the twins. He only died in prison as he was set up as a means to keep Reggie locked up.
I should`nt think she got to far with ronnie! Charlie relates a comical story of himself and `Babs` walking down the street ,and seeing the famous Windsor wiggle a street trader upset his barrow of apples and oranges.the krays were also friends with another blonde bombshell diana dors.
If we can assume that the the twins spoke just like Charlie - with the same pitch and tone then it’s safe to assume Tom Hardy sounded nothing like any of them , really . He was too ‘mockney’ as Reg although it was more grounded but his Ron was just the usual spoof and oddball voice he did with Al Capone, Alfie S and nearly all the characters that come off as comedic parodies
I worked with him in around 1973 ish. I was doing a Saturday job delivering The London Evening News around Romford. Gary was about 7 to 10 years older than me then and had a permanent job with the Evening Standard. I know people talk a lot of crap about the Krays and how they were essentially decent and only hurt their own. I don't subscribe to that but I can vouch for the fact that Gary was a very pleasent and decent guy with (as far as I could tell) not an ounce of malice in him.
Gary died in Kings College hospital from an OD i was there when Charlie was coming out and he had a portable TV that he was taking into his son he stopped by my Brothers bed who was also named Gary and gave him the TV. R.I.P Charlie and thank you.
Trouble was Charlie was a sensible guy but managed to live off the Kray name..i.m not saying he never got involved with certain things sometimes out if his control...but and a big but he lived the life of a Kray and definetly went along for the ride...😉
Champagne charlie was a good man and got set up raw by nippa read. I'm not saying he new nothing but he certainly didn't get rid of Jack. And in later life because of his name it was inevitable he'd get in to serious crime ie. Drug smuggling but I think ron reg and charlie got a very raw deal. Rip to them all
@DINOLOVER6717 yeah as i stated this was first broadcast in sep, so after ronnie died, and as the show had topical news elements i'd expect all interviews were fiilmed as close to the broadcast date.
Charlie Kray is a comical and cheerful geezer on the Frank Skinner show, and reminds me of Bobby Grant, On the Buses. He was made to be a danger to society because of his fearful brothers, twins Ronnie and Reggie. I couldn't imagine him to be violent, and was jailed twice, the second time for ridiculous false multi million pound drug dealing. I don't know why the public regarded him as a scumbag, like a paedophile, terrorist, psychopath etc. RIP.
No-one else think it's crazy that on a celebrity chat show they'd have the brother of two gangstas that killed and brutally murdered many people, that himself served time for assisting in disposing of a dead body, chatting about it so blasé is very odd? All the comments are 'oh what a lovely man' yeah how lovely serving 10 years in prison for helping your two murderer brothers to kill and dispose of dead bodies and smuggling £39million of cocaine. What a lovely genuine bloke 🙄
I don't know why everyone suggesting Skinner is being disrespectful. He's a comedian doing a chat show. It's never going to be Parkinson or Frost interviewing Nixon. I think Charlie Kray comes over very well with a keen sense of humour.
how did charlies son gark kray die? some say he was gay an died of aids some say he wasnt and died of lung cancer no photos of him either? anyone know anything about him?
I'm pretty sure he wasn't mentally disabled but was a bit of a loner and was happier outside of the laddish crowd that worked on the distribution of those two papers. From memory, I think he could have been described as not the sharpest but I reiterate, I found him very pleasent and in no way did he display any archetypal Kray attributes. I only knew him for about two years. I heard rumour that he contracted HIV and died. He used to often utter "it's all wrong". Never asked him what he meant.
The poor man , was shit on from a great hight, people who are of good nature usually do, I know some people might say he was part of it, yes he was but he had no choice, well he did in a way but that meant losing every body he loved ect Mum Dad "who needed him" his beloved Son, all his friends, he was a weak Man who needed them.
Charlie was a great guy sure he was a bit dodgy but he didn't do half the things he was senticed for.You can chose your friends but you can't chose your family
I met him the night after he got out of prison, his eyes still sunken from bad prison food and lack of daylight. He was one of the most charming, intelligent, frank and generous men I have ever met. The police, lawyers and politicians that framed him should burn in hell. Even now there should be an inquiry into that miscarriage of justice and anyone responsible still alive should go to jail. He deserves to have his name cleared and so does his family.
Charlie kray was involved in some off the stuff, but he had more brains then the other two,and he was more respected they was feared,Ron and reg used to take piss out him,as all the people who was on the firm said!,
