CBS This Morning Co-Host Charlie Rose joins CBSN to talk about his in-depth interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin in which they discussed ISIS and gay rights.
My favourite part of the whole thing Rose: You believe that United States had something to do with overturn of Yanukhovich when he was forced to escape to Russia? (in a passive/agressive manner) Putin: I know that for sure. Rose: How? Putin: Simple, people who live in Ukraine, we have thousands of connections with them. And we know who, where, when had meetings, worked with people who overturned Yanukhovich. How they were supported, how much got paid, how were prepared, on what areas and what countries, and who were the instructors. We know all that. And our American partners are not exactly hiding that. They say that blatantly - yes we did, spent $5bill on that. Theres no secret at all. No one is arguing about that. *SLAMDUNK!*
+Armuotas Of course the US had their hand in it with the overturn of Yanukhovich. Our government has been taken over by a bunch of malevolent reptilian mother stabbers that is hungry for power.
***** I have watched several interviews from different years and he is very consistent in what he says. I don`t think he was playing for the American media.
+Hiefinger Не устали ещё от этого клише?! Американцы с таким пониманием относятся к России и Путину, этот ролик один из примеров; так нет же,------опять та же набившая оскомину херня---- "американская подстилка"! Сколько можно?
What are these childish questions? 'Do you like Obama? Does he listen to you?' - that's the 'profound interviewing' of interviewer Rose - sounds like teen gossip?
+Kamadev888 Yeah, I agree, It looked like Charlie was behaving, like he was interviewing a child. Maybe it was some kind of psychological move, to provoke more honest and emotional reactions, but Putin handled very well.
I am not Russian and I have no idea what life is like with Putin as my president, but Mr. Putin has my respect. To bad I can't say that same about my own president.
It saddens me to have to write this, but like many Americans, I trust President Putin more than I trust President Obama. To us President Putin seems straightforward with good leadership skills, while Obama seems rather secretive, devious, and self-absorbed. We simply can't trust his words. It saddens me that we have such a flawed individual as our President.
+Mathview Americans are stirring. No more mobs supporting the government in their ''world police adventure''. Americans have changed in the last 10 years and question their government and the system.
What Putin is doing is being an honest politician. You are elected, you have power. You explain what the interests of you country are, and what you intend to do with that power. As should any politician in a democracy. I'm French and when I see a Russian president more honest about his foreign policy than mine, I feel quite ashamed.
+Yannick B Same here I am from Germany, and we consider Putin a much better politician than the Merkel dog, that is a cowardly puppet who destabilised EU
There was a time when making remarks like this, publicly, would have placed your life in jeopardy. I am guessing no such threat exists due to your post today. Relax...The U.S. is not much of a harbinger for democracy either. The real enemies are the military industrialists that run these governments from behind the scenes anyway.
And kids knows for Alexandar of Macedonia is never speak Helenic language/ Greek Soliders in Macedonian army is only 10% others is 60%Macedonian and Ilirian And with Greeks soliders in her army he speak every time with her transalater Macedonian to helen greek.. +Dalibor Bora The grace of God we are, and the Most Lucent Sovereign Grand Emperor and the great Prince Vladimir Putin 1. All Great and Little and Belaja Russian autocrat: Moscowsky, Vladimirsky, Novgorod, king of Kazan, Astrakhan and the king of the king Siberian, Sovereign Pskov, the Grand Duke Smolensk, Tver, Yugra, Perm, and other, the Emperor and the Grand Duke Novgorod Azovskaya land, Ryazan, Rostov, Yaroslavl, Belozersky, Udorsky, and all the northern Kondiysky lord of the country, and the emperor Iverskogo land land Cherkassky and Mountain princes and many others States and Eastern and Western lands and Northern Otchich and Dedic and heir the emperor and the owner Putin!
+Donald Oliver He laughs because he is probably embarrassed by the stupidity and impropriety of questions this person asks. Is this really the "best interviewing journalist of America"? Then I really pity America. C.mon! You are not talking to J.Biber ! You are talking to the head of a state. Do you HAVE to ask this senior-school-level questions? "Hei, Jonny, do you think Jacky likes you?" Like, really? That's your question to Putin?
Coleen StarlightPH just like stalin. a mistake we shouldn't repeat... oh wait, i am russian, and we russians LOVE to do same bullshit over and over again!
+DomEvah To day is best leader in the world,to Russia is best after Petar the Great or Ekaterina velika (the great) or Jelisaveta petrovna.Putin have a Russian royal blood and in Russia is only one family with PUTIN in lastname
The KGB isn’t boring for sure but abusive and has a sense of entitlement. That’s why Putin is the way he is . A zebra is still a zebra even without the stripes.
***** Maybe once Obummer is out of office things will change. Sadly I do think there are a lot of things we as the public here do not know. I think there are things going on bigger than we think. There are no governments that are not corrupt in some way or another and they all want and need the same thing...OIL. Without oil a country would collapse, so that is why they will do anything to get it. Not just the US, it's other countries as well.
Charlie Rose at 1:06 : "What do you think of President Obama? What's your evaluation of him?"Putin at 1:11 using all the self control in the world to keep from laughing his ass off.
I am simply amazed how a person could talk to another person, ask him all kinds of questions (including some really stupid ones), get clear answers from him, come out of that interview and STILL speculates: "Yeah, he said this and that, but I think what he really meant was that and this..." This looks like 16 y.o. girls discussing if Mike meant anything special by saying: "This in an interesting book" and how he look when he said it and other such nonsense. I sometimes really think that people in US reach emotional and mental age of sixteen and never develop any further. As for Putin, he proved more than once that he means EXACTLY what he says. Just pay attention.
I am amazed at the number of people expressing alarm at President Trump's desire to get along with Russia. It use to be alarming that we didn't get along.
So refreshing to see something relatively objective and not the crude and clumsy propaganda that mainstream western media subjects us to. I wish they'd treat us like adults and let us make up our own minds. Kudos to Charlie for giving us a different slant
Sry, as German you just get propaganda in different tastes: Fokus, Spiegel, Stern, Bild, with cream if you like. ich kann mir schwer vorstellen, dass sich ein Ami vorstellen könnte, ich könnte die Merkel wegtauschen für EGAL welchen Politiker. Aber es gibt auch ein paar wenige Interviews mit Putin in deutsch ... halt von früher, wo es noch kein politische Selbstmord war mit ausländischen, nicht-amerikanischen Politiker zu reden.
No world leader is without blood on his hands but, unlike Obama, I think Putin is mostly honest and unlike almost any other world leader he gives his time and honesty to interviewers
Love him or hate him, Putin is by far one of the most interesting political leaders of the past 30 years. Highly intelligent, direct and perceptive. I don't agree with Putin's politics, but I understand why others do.
Putin is a brilliant fellow. We may not agree with all his methods but he loves his country and his people. That cannot be denied. There is no doubt that Russia is a major player in the world and it is up to the American leadership as well as the European to come to this realization and work together with him to make the world a safer place for all humanity.
Putin is trying to defend his country's interests, and he is not going to apologize for that to Charlie Rose. I hope a lot of people listened to what he had to say.
I wish Vladimir Putin were my father. I know he would teach me Russian, train me in judo and then will have a nice he will serve the tea but trust me I will work so hard just to make sure to make papa proud.
In regards to weapon threats, USA is important to Russia. But in ordinary life, trade is the most important thing for Russia (or any other Country). And the EU-Russia trade is (65%) where US-Russia is(5%). So apart from the need for a understanding in each others weapon locations, USA is not that important for Russia.

Ask personality based questions, fish for soundbites and not get any, edit down the interview to 10 second clips, spend more time asking interviewer to "read between the lines" than letting anyone read the actual lines in the first place. Good journalism, that.
I’m pretty sure the mines are great way to scale maps around certain Perimeters, this is why there were strictly ban in war games and or still active in certain area around Europe. If there were an ww3 I would personally bet 400million which is probably around 90k-120k mines around battle ground so sniping is the only option, while on the grounds.
About Putin being "all of a sudden very open and clear", I don't agree. All he's doing and saying appears very sporadicly on Western media. In reality, he has a lot of speeches, interviews, talk shows, etc. that are very open en even much more in-depth than this particular interview.
