Wealth. Fame. Cardboard. Charles White, the King of Trading Card Games, had attained this and everything else the world had to offer, and his entry into the world champions had driven countless souls into credit card debt. “You want my collection? You can’t have it. I left it all in the warehouse, you won’t find it.” This is the time known as the great One Piece TCG era.
im so stoked for this. ive been playing for a while and seeing larger creators like you support it will let the game get some great traction! thank you charlie!
Its so nice as someone who was played card games gor 2 decades to see someone document joining in and get excited about even just going 2-2. I hope you continue to play tcg and go to events tcg communities are great.
Charlie, so much of competing is nailing all of these rogue decks as much as the meta! I'm glad you had a good time and ended up with a good first record! Know that the improvement starts from here 💪
??? Literally not a single pro player of any card game will tell you you need to play Rogue Decks in competitive environments. Literally zero. That's an awful, awful way to try to win and an awful way to try to get better at the meta you are playing in.
@@GSTempName I don't disagree with you. But OPTCG is not like a lot of other TCGs that I have played. Even just knowing the leader and their effects means that you can guess a good amount of what is in the decks because of the amount of overlap that occurs in colors. And even with rogue decks, you can still learn the T2 decks without getting too into the weeds. Plus, Charlie made it sound like he was not super well versed in his own deck, which is another easy way to learn early on, learn your deck and what you need to be doing inside and out.
It's so exciting seeing Charlie's journey to get better at optcg I'm very excited for more updates I would also love if you guys could record matches and upload them or host a mini tournament at the warehouse I think that could be cool.
Lets go!!! Also in the BY Luffy match, when you triggered that last card, you could activate your leader ability first and gain a life + the “you’re the one that should disappear” effect giving you 2 life (4 swings for your opponent to finish) which is very cancer haha
Good shit hope to see y’all at Regional soon. I hope y’all signed up for store treasure cups and regionals to give y’all as many chances to get to nats
I am a long time magic player and big one piece fan I just started getting into this game myself I just ordered my first two decks to start going to locals which is a red purple Luffy and enel 😂😂 I already knew who were you but now your popping up all around the tcg scene and I love it cause I love your content
Enel was my first deck too when I started playing a year ago! Glad to see more yellow players in the sea of black deck meta 🤭 May Our Lives be Full of Triggers ✨️
Charlie. If you didn't know. But you can resolve "You should br the one who disappears" and Enels leader effect off the same instance of hitting zero life.
Yeah make sure no dumb judge's incorrectly rule this. I lost a game because my opp called judge saying it's illegal and they agreed 😂. Sad part is I used hiyori to put it there so it wasn't very luck based
I used to play One Piece for about the first year it came out, and honestly missing out on locals makes me want to get back into it so bad despite some of my gripes with the balancing and availability of product. Tournaments are a blast and the community is super chill (at least in my experience with one piece) so its no surprise to me that you enjoyed it. I'm from the same area so maybe if I get back into it we might meet in bracket! Watch out though charlie this mono blue croc player dont mess...
@@derekwashington1633 Enel’s effect says, “when your number of life cards become 0, add 1 card from the top of your deck…”. It’s mandatory not optional, so Enel’s effect happens even if you also gained another life from the trigger.
Lesss goooo! Not sure if this was said but if your last life is the zero cost event, you heal with that trigger AND enel leader effect pretty much pitching 2 cards and healing twice!
Love to hear that you're taking OPTCG seriously, Enel is a great deck. Ignore the haters they'll say all your wins are luck but it's not as easy as people say.
@@richardshiflett5181 Nah, One piece is fine. 07 meta is great. Nami just like enel requires that you understand what it takes to beat them and not get impatient. You have to execute the plan no matter what.
I’ve started the one piece show after putting it off for so long. So far loving it. Also started the one piece tcg. Excited you guys are getting into it as well!
As an Enel player, I understand the hate. But also the lucci match up feels rough at times, but I try to prioritise the 7c Enel rush as it can stick on board. One piece is definitely such a fun game and I'm excited to see your journey!
Make sure you are familiar with the Whitebeard leader matchup as well. Its basically a knowledge check deck at this point. You wont see him played very often, but if you don't know how to beat him, you will lose
Sometime you just high roll and win. One piece is not just about skill but luck also. This season is one of the most balance yet. Congrats on going out and playing at your first locals. Welcome to the community can't wait to see y'all rip some of those packs. The card quality is unlike any other TCG out there.
Please do a weekly series recapping your locals. Would love more in depth talks about your rounds. Would help you improve as well analyzing each round deeper. Fellow tcg competitor here
CHARLIE! FACE MY RED ZORO BROTHER (it’s an older deck, I have not updated it with the zoo package but old zoro still slaps lol) I love your videos and thank you for your content mister man
When Charlie is talking about his games I find it little had to follow since I know nothing about the game, but it’s great to hear his experience and enthusiasm.
Glad to see you playing the card game. One thing you really need to learn in the competitive scene is matchups. I’ll be happy to play against you on webcam if you ever need practice and advice
Love to see you try out Digimon. I wonder what deck you'd use. Also I just started Battle Spirits Saga which I think might be dead. They had a 1 million dollar tournament in the west last year and after that everything fell off. The gameplay is what I'd recommend trying out. The cards are dirt cheap. The most expensive cards are under 130. Most cards are in the cent range and 10 to 20 dollars. I'd recommend using Proxy's just to try out the mechanics of the game. I think you'd love the mechanics but the game is another Bandai card game, and it's at the bottom of one piece, digimon, and Dragonball. Though it's mechanics are really good if not better than the others.
You deseerve all of yoru wins dude, the main reason you play your 0c and bege is because your want to use their trigger on your last life, they're good as 2k counters but its always about the trigger (same with onami). Any good player has to expect good triggers from yellow and play around it, it doesn't make sense to play the whole game and lose for getting greedy. Those were well deserved victories, feel proud
you guys should try one of the dragon ball card games! fusion world is just starting with their 3rd box and I would love to see content on this channel covering it
Yellow decks in general just seem to be very strong. I went to my first tournament recently and the 2 match ups i struggled against was B/Y luffy and Yellow Yamato. My main deck is Green Uta but I've made some tweaks and I think it'll be a pretty strong contender at my locala next time I go.
hell yeah man love the one piece card game getting more love as a fellow enel player trust me that is the reason people hate us for just scamming wins but a win is a win bb
I was the Blue yellow ace! and bro the smells that came from the people around us…smh 🤧glad you like the experience tho 🎉🎉 I’m down for the run back anytime 🦑
Enel is a good first pick for a deck, very simple play line from your end with not a lot of skill expression while retaining a fairly high floor. But you may find more success playing a deck more in tune with your playstyle.
what's crazy is that if you trigger the 0 cost event on your final life (and you haven't used your leader ability yet) you would actually gain two life. one from the leader ability and one from the event trigger
i switched out like half of my enel deck to only have cards that give me a life and i wiped the meta deck competition on easy mode. i beat some top hitters with up to 10 life cards left. new shirahoshi with soul pocus is so broken.
Oh shiz OP is popping off I hope you keep playing and collecting Charlie! Opo9 is going to be crazy I hope you get your hands on product and rip a ton of it
Lets go !!! Hopefully i get to play you in treasure cup or regionals ! glad your getting into the game, ( you should do those mega opening like the previous Yugioh booster box rips session ) chase a manga
i'm curious, hopefully someone here could answer for me. i wanna get into the game but have never played a tcg before. i have a place not far from me that host these game nights. my question, are you allowed to show up and just watch and socialise with the people there or do you have to be there to play?
On the "You're the one who should disappear" trigger, since you're at zero life, Enel's leader ability also triggers so you heal two life. Absolutely broken last life trigger to hit.
Pleaseeee play flesh and blood. I guarantee it's a competitive tcg experience like no other I've played. Super popular and super fun :). The next set's world premier is even in tampa next month
