Whenever he delivers a line with his frustrated high-pitched voice, it's guaranteed gold. Another example that comes to mind is from when him and Charlie are writing the M. Night movie. Charlie: "That's the twist, Dolph Lundgren will be the voice of this dog!" Mac: "That's not a twist! That's a completely different movie about a talking dog scientist!"
In the blooper reel they broke down like a dozen times when Charlie says "I don't think he even gets us, man". Glenn especially could not keep a straight face.
infinition it was shockingly funny as it unfolded. Dennis and mac realizing they lost Charlie somewhere and hitting the brakes, getting out and investigating the situation developing in Charlie's mind at the same time the viewers are
This and when he finds the "Ali Baba" sword, slides down the heap of trash slashing his way down and bursts a garbage bag, shooting dirt/dust into his mouth and spitting it out.
To me this is a perfect example of what exactly makes the show so fantastic. Even the most basic of tasks or side-chatter devolves into this insanity because of their own dysfunctionality. If you watch the outtakes for this it's largely unscripted, just 3 naturally hilarious people bouncing off each other.
@@drakeloki4214 5% chance of success! I once got a nat 20 on a roll to pray to my god to give a party member "many eyes to see with and many legs to walk with" after he lost both eyes and then both legs. He ended up with eight legs and eight eyes.
Rob is constantly on the verge of laughter throughout this entire scene. Look at his eyes. Those are Rob's eyes... not Mac's. He has the "I'm about to break" look.
I can relate to Charlie in this scene more than I'd like to admit. *Oh shit, I have not been paying the slightest bit to this conversation and now they're looking at me like they're expecting a response! Quick, say something vague!* "Yeah, man. I feel ya."
I’m always able to just get enough information in to give a response they’ll be happy with whilst I’m still half assing it, it could be important so you gotta try to respond in a way that helps
This joke could literally be placed in any show about any subject and somehow it hasn't and Charlie Day just improv'd it out of no where LOL. It's so fucking simple but so hilarious.
Except for the completely pointless appearance by Martina Martinez. I hate those forced throwbacks to earlier stuff. The worst example of this is when Frank talks to the tourists on the boat in Thunder Gun Express.
This scene made me burst out laughing when I saw it on tv. I was like yes! Charlie never changes none of them do it's always a communication struggle and this funny scene emphasized it.
I love the part after this scene. as soon as Dennis moves on with “i have no love for Frank’s plan” Charlie immediately goes back to normal like “no we have to see Frank’s plan through that’s the whole thing”. Charlie loses total grasp on reality when the gang is criticizing his part of the plan but is 100% socially fluent otherwise He’s doing it on purpose and i love him for that
If you look closely when Charlie says the line, Rob is cracking a half smile since they used one of the takes when they were both cracking. It's just masked by the edit
This scene is hilarious but if you watch it after you watch the bloopers idk... the bloopers were so much funnier just in how they delivered their lines, they should keep those in there.
Charlie’s Logic for a wild card is pretty much destroy everyone and cause as much mayhem as possible instead of benefiting the dynamic that it’s made for.
