Recorded in Broby Hall at the University of Miami. No editing and no effects, just a trumpet, some music, a macbook pro and a microphone.
The Charlier Project is an intensive, no-frills exploration of the "36 Études Transcendantes" by Théo Charlier, a rite of passage for every serious trumpet player. The etudes are performed and recorded by Craig Morris, Professor of Trumpet at the University of Miami and former Principal Trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Craig will record all 36 etudes -- unedited, unaltered, and filmed wherever he can find room (and time) for his laptop and a microphone. The etudes will be prepared and recorded in the same order that Craig first learned them with his teacher and mentor, Ray Crisara.
