What I love about this love story is that they took all of the toxicity of Sydney and Charlotte's relationship and threw it out the window. Xander isn't perfect, but you can see the difference early on, like when Charlotte assumes she's being fired because of that early disagreement on the girls' education. She was so used to being chastised by Sydney whenever she spoke her mind (especially when he asks for her opinion and then tells her she's too outspoken). Yet she speaks her mind with Colbourne, and while he may not be happy about what she says, he doesn't punish her for it. Charlotte has also learned to stand up for herself after Sydney had so much power over her. These two are just delightful to watch.
I do not entirely agree that Sidney had so much power over Charlotte. She had a strong opinion from the beginning, which is totally fine, but Sidney was hurt in the past and overreacted with her presence. I think the producers from this series did a fantastic u turn since theo james did not return. However we will never know how Sidney would have developed if he would have been the main character as Jane Austen probably intended. I can see Mr Darcy similar to Sidney in many ways, full of pride and predujice, so was Charlotte.
The romance between Xander and Charlotte, who portrayed Rose Williams and Ben Lloyd-Hughes, was one of the many ups and downs that made me like these seasons. Sanditon is one of the finest shows on television.
I 100% agree! Also, I wish we had a Season 4 so that Season 3 wouldn't be so crammed with so many storylines and the main characters wouldn't be sidelined. For me, the details of each event or action are essential. As someone said: “the devil is in the details.”
I love how they took the best bits from the other love stories that Austen wrote to make this one. Since Sanditon was never finished this romance never existed in writing. You've got Alexander as a sort of Mr Darcy in S2 with Lennox as Mr Wickham. Augusta's elopement in S3 is also from Pride and Prejudice. And the confusion with Alexander's engagement at the very end is from Sense and Sensibility. That took all the wonderful stories she told and put them together into one love story.
There's plenty of Persuasion and Emma if you look for it, and shdows of Mansfield Park (Antigua). Also, I've recently found clips of the romance between Capt. VonTrapp and Maria (Sound of Music) that are strikingly familiar to CH and AC. So much talent and excellence!
And the mistaken letter/love trope from Alison in Season 2 is from Cyrano de Bergerac, an old play. It’s used a LOT. Even Megamind is a Cyrano adaptation (the main women in each is named Roxanne). These stories revolve around a woman who falls in love with the words of a man, but she thinks the letters are from a handsome man. In reality, a man who feels ugly/less than is writing the letters because he is in love with the girl, but he doesn’t think he stands a chance. Although adaptations give happy endings, the original (and the musical with Peter Dinklage) show the fatal flaw of insecurity and pride.
We need to run a campaign asking the PBS masterpiece for a Sanditon S4, all Sanditon fans want that, they need to know that the public wants more of this wonderful show, hear our wish and heed our plea.
He was the proudest groom I have ever seen. Love is not tangible but it takes on a life of it's own and becomes a very valuable tangible thing . How do you explain that tangible thing😊.
His smile to her as she said the vows was the warmest, sweetest, gentlest, proudest genuinely happy smile I've almost ever seen onscreen...he was like almost telling her with that smile 'we'll have a lifetime of sweet, romantic, REAL love together'....Good actor he is. 😊
This series was the best that I've watched in along time. The acting by all characters was excellent especially Charlotte and Alexander. I wish the series was longer with all the actors.
It is wonderful to see my favorite moments between Charlotte and Alexander altogether in one video. Now I don't have to select the bits and pieces from each of the episodes in S 2 and S 3. Thank you.
The more I watch this I see more details,in their faces, background, lights costumes. Xanders pinky finger ring. Thank you. I watch this over, over again.
No one said anything about how passionately he kissed her each time. Like he really meant it! On a daytime TV show, that occasionally get to see, all you hear is these loud sounds of people kissing, its gross to hear lip smacking over and over again, not romantic at all.
They were the types of kisses that are the most beautiful and mean the most. ❤️. For a socially reserved man these spoke volumes about how much he loved her.
Thank you for gathering the most beautiful scenes of Sanditon 2 and 3, what a wonderful love story, beautiful scenes with amazing silences between Charlotte and Alexander just expressing love, very moving scene of two hands touching, one of the most beautiful series in the last few years, a love story we will remember, congratulation to very talented actors ❤️
This is such a great collection of scenes between Charlotte and Alexander… it is so well done, thank you for making it. Sanditon was such a great show to watch and their Love Story was deeply felt by the audience… Bravo to Rose & Ben ❤❤
That was a wonderful review of scenes that tell the story of Zander & Charlotte’s journey to love & marriage! I just loved all these characters… so well acted and expressive! Thank you for reminding us of Sanditon and all of the ups and downs… how beautiful the scenery & location are…and finally, how each character was created with shades of Austen’s other characters in her works but yet they were uniquely special! I’m going to watch the series again and I hope they make a sequel or movie like the creators of Downton Abbey did. Thank you for sharing! Love Sanditon!❤️❤️❤️
I loved your compilation of scenes from Seasons 2 and 3 to show the character arcs. Thank you for taking the time to create this video editing marvel. 👒🎩🐎
Thank you for this. I didn't watch the first two episodes of Season 2 so I missed out on how Charlotte and Alexander's relationship began. This awesome video answers though questions. I appreciate you taking the time to make this and answer those questions.
Thank you for making this, it’s lovely ☺️ also after seeing this and then re-watching all the ITV series from the start, I have noticed there are a few teeny scenes that were cut from the episodes on ITVX, for some reason so it is nice to see those snippets on here! X
This was a great ❤❤ Love Story! It made you Dream, and Hope that a love like this can exist. Hat off to the writers producers, actors, actress " Bravo! Encore!"" You deserve it
Great effort to put together all those scenes. Pity that the background music is at a level soo high, that it makes difficult to understand the words being said.
Ben Lloyd-Hughes is a great actor--he becomes Xander. He looks and talks and feels (and probably smells) like Xander. Xander's personal change to a more accepting man is perfectly believable. The only thing I can comment on at all is that Charlotte and Xander look so desperately in love, I can't believe that they don't start a full blown fling right in the middle of the dance floor,. What's worse that no one around them --the whole monde-- ignores their pain and agony.
16:58 closed captions is terrible. It says “no I’m not Batman is you father”. It completely took me out of the story and made me laugh for much longer than I probably should have. Now I keep thinking, what would a 19th century Batman look like.
So I want to know how long their first make-out session lasted!?!? What sweet nothings did he say to her? Hard to believe that they just shared that one passionate kiss and then he called her a cab home! How did she get home anyway? Did he keep a carriage and driver on the property? She couldn't walk home at night alone. What do you all think?
After 1st season, when I learned the main lead won't be returning I was so disappointed and lost interest in second season. This video made me want to watch it.
Season 1 he was a bore ignorant over powering to her so smoked drank and a debaucher to boot whose to say Jane wouldn't have dumped him will never know.
Thanks for this! At first, I wasn't sure about him with Charlotte, then it just became SMOLDERING hot thanks mainly to the actor. Damn! I like the actress but she seemed bored most of the time. He's fantastic though.
The father said in the beginning of season 1 he wouldn't go more than 5 miles away from his farm. Looks like he meant it. :) They likely had another ceremony /celebration at the farm.
@@marsha6549 Whoa really, isn't her niece still alive I heard she was in Downton abbey as well as pride and prejudice (the one that's on RU-vid with 6 episodes)
@@tamiathompson3426 Are you referring to Jane Austen's niece? I think there is an Austen relative still alive. I thought Jane had a brother. Maybe I'm not understanding your question. Sorry about that.
Filling the pool is the only thing I have left to fill the water heater so ⏪ if you’re still at the house I can dump it in the morning and you can just
I think the men are married in real life and the pinky rings are there as reminders!!! The scenes get steamy. How can they not get some "extra" feelings...just saying.
