You have me excited about the Charlotte Tilbury. I have never used primer to last year and I still don't quite "get it" - I am keen to try these - you make complete sense!
I like her products because they are so natural looking...you can pile on for a real glowy look, but if you just put on like a normal person, it just makes you look good, like you only better, subtle but special!
You know that I swear by primer, but I'm not opposed to trying just a great moisturizer as a vase before foundation. I've been experimenting with not using any finishing powder and setting spray. My skin looks really natural! Thank you for sharing your tips! ❤
Great review. I never use primers. Really want to see the difference with or without. Thank You so much for sharing and have a wonderful weekend darling ❤️
See that would have been a GREAT idea....I just don't think about it until some like you mentions it to me! Next time I do something like this, I'll do it!!
Hi Lisa I see a big difference when I use a primer under my foundation ,being mature I need all the help I can get.i love that you shared drugstore prices also . Loved this video Hugs Frances 💖💖
To add to my last comment - you did mention that one "gripped" well so you did address the no sliding issue makeups can have over primers..but I truly wanted to see if it covers your pores well where makeup doesn't "puddle" in pores, etc.
I love the embryolisse!!! It’s so good! I heard about it from Wayne goss ☺️ the Charlotte Tilbury sounds lovely! Can’t wait for the Charlotte tilbury!!🤗🤗🤗
Hi Lisa, I'm here returning the love from your comment on my channel! I live for a good moisturizer but I also go in with a primer as well. I have heard many great things about Charlotte Tilbury but not this specific product. I have also never heard of the Hourglass serum so I have some new products to check out! I hit that subscribe button and I look forward to seeing more videos! xx
I am really intrigued with CT’s magic cream.. i dont want to spend a lot just to try it out.. so when they give it away for free when you buy over ninety five dollars, i took advantage of it and i’m getting their travel size and not just magic cream, but the eye cream as well.. it will be delivered tomorrow so i am so excited! ❤️ thanks for the review. I hope it’ll work on my skin type..
Did you end up trying/liking the magic cream? I find it's not quite heavy enough for my daily moisturize, but just perfect to prep the skin before foundation.
Hi Sweet Lisa! I really enjoyed hearing about your favorite moisturizing primers.. Your skin looks amazing my friend.. I hope you are having a great weekend... talk soon! Love wendy
Hey sweetie..I have been wanting to try this cream for a while, but I have so many to get through..I use both a moisturizer and primer, it works best with my desert dry skin..as long as its a moisturizing primer..love this sweetie..thanks for sharing:)
I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment since this is an older video, but I’m curious how you do this, exactly. Right now I do skincare… vitamin C-moisturizer-SPF. Then with makeup I will use a primer or just foundation, but I need more help and am thinking of trying moisturizer as primer. So in this case… is it vitamin C-moisturizer-SPF… wait… then when doing makeup… moisturizer-as-primer then foundation? Which means moisturizer x 2 in the mornings?
If I am putting my make up on immediately after my skin care, I wouldn’t do the moisturizer again. It’s really to plump up the skin and allow the make up to adhere as it is absorbed into the skin. It sits better on the skin. But if your skin is freshly moisturized then I would just make sure your foundation does well with your SPF since that’s going to be your top layer. For me I usually do my SPS after I get out of the shower, and then I’m usually done my make up 30 minutes to an hour later so then I would put the moisturizer on again. And if I don’t plan on being outside at all, I don’t even use SPF
Is there a specific one of these primers you recommend for extremely dry patchy skin. I exfoliate and moisturize but all my foundational show my scaly skin. 🙁. I’m considering Vaseline. Thank you 😊
I'm not sure the primer should be the one to fix your skin, you might need to adjust your regular skincare routine. Have you tried The Ordinary? If you send them a chat message (and leave email or phone to get message when they respond) and tell them you have extremely dry skin, they can probably recommend a series of serums. It takes at LEAST 24 hours for them to respond, so be patient, lol. I know the serum regime they recommended for me was super hydrating, but also included hyper pigmentation serums, which you might not need.
I have the Stoned Rose palette, but not any of the Pillow Talk palettes. I did order it once, the original, but it came broken so I returned it. I debate on the new palette...I just don't know if I couldn't get the same looks with an old palette from 2 seasons ago (no I don't throw out palettes after a certain amount of time)
First time watching you - appreciate you doing a review on moisturizer primers but I found this lacking and not sure I trust your judgement - #1) never seen you before but it was more what you say and don't say. I was told that any skincare product you put on your face that has added "perfumes" destroys all the essential "good ingredients" . Also jars with open lids..expose the ingredients further to air which (again) breaks down any good it had in there prior. So those 2 points were not mentioned?? It was more you like scent and others may not (but there is more too it then just whether I like a scent or not)? Lastly, for a PRIMER I really wanted to know how it works under makeup. You only mentioned what you liked.with no detail, video testing so we could see etc.? How do you pores look under the makeup? Does your makeup slide off, cake, but to me the most telling is getting up close under a 5x mirror and seeing up close? None of those types of questions were addressed so sadly this didn't do much for promoting these products other than you "like" them.
Thank you for your comment. You've give me a great idea for a new video! A MOISTURIZING primer is usually known for their moisturizing properties to prep skin, not pore filling, smoothing or even making makeup last longer. So those tests would not be ones I would do with a moisturizing primer. Many professional make up artist actually prep skin but putting a great moisturizing base to give your makeup a great natural, skin-like finish. That's what these primers are meant to do, I should have put that in the video. As far as fragrance, if you did follow my channel you would know I am definitely one that does NOT buy into all perfumes destroy any positive benefit of skincare. My dermatologist agrees, if your skin does not have a sensitivity to it, there’s no reason to avoid. In fact many non-scented products actually contain masking scents, which do not have to be listed in ingredients, to cover the natural scent of active ingredients, which many are not pleasant. So when someone says something has no scent at all, it may actually has a “fragrance” added to neutralize smell. You would treat it the same way, if you get an irritation using the product, then you just stop. So someone who hates fragrance will not like a lot of products I review, especially luxury brands, as most contain fragrance. Every RU-vid channel has its own audience and a different idea of what information they want to present and how they present it and I may not be your cup of tea, but that’s OK because there are 100s of channels out there for everyone 🥰 💕
After my morning routine, which is skin treatments, morning moisturizer and sunscreen. I don't put on again right before foundation, my foundation has spf as my booster. If I'm going to be out in the sun all day, like at a tournament, I usually don't wear a heavy foundation, so I can reapply sunscreen frequently.
