I have the HSH version of this and it's fantastic. It plays amazing, and has all the upgrades you could possibly need (apart from SS frets, but I'll just put those in when it needs a refret). When I got mine a few years back I couldn't believe how much guitar I got for the money.
I don't understand why all guitars aren't plek'd with stainless steel frets. Superior ways of doing things exist but aren't used. I'm always fighting the setup and doing fret work every 6 months. It's about 600 dollars to get a SS re-fret.
Bought this guitar on an impulsive whim as a christmas gift for myself after just having bought and fully modifying a cheap ibanez gio the week before( also an impulsive christmas gift for myself lol) and it has quickly become my favourite thing in the world, it is such an incredibly versatile guitar and everything about it is perfect imho, also it's pink which makes it 100x better
I had a San Dimas but sold it cuz the neck was too in between my Strat and my Blue Bengal.. how does this neck feel?? My Wolfgang has my favorite neck right now
I've got a first year DK24 and the gray is more of a shale gray. It has a very slight blueish tint and looks amazing. IF it was pure gunmetal gray, I would have purchased the pink model, which appears to me as a very soft coral rather than a pure pink.
Charvel has REALLY stepped up their game. I bought a Pro-Mod San Dimas a couple years back and still blown away by the parts & build quality. I just bought a DK24 and looking forward to future models 🙂
I just bought a DK24 2PT HH and Dagan is absolutely right…it’s custom shop specs at Player Series prices!!! I don’t understand why these guitars don’t sell out. People who buy only Fender would love Charvel, they’ve got Fender necks!!! This is the best playing experience I’ve had in 30 years. 😊
The Full Shred is flatter in the bottom and spikier above the waist than my ex-old lady. Swapped it out for a SD SH5 Custom [ my choices were SH5 or a JB, could have gone with either one ] and am very pleased with the results.
This was excellent. I’d love to see you demo the Charvel Pro Mod DK24 in Satin Burgundy Mist with a Caramelised Maple Fingerboard. I’ve heard it’s amazing!
Owner of this one since it came out and yes it does wear quickly lol but in the best way since can’t stop playing it 🤘🏼. I want to get my hands on that blue Angel Vivaldi Sig. 6 string looks perfect
Nitpick - based on the website spec position 3 is bridge outer coil + neck. It looks like there isn't a way to get the middle pickup on its own with the default wiring. Seems to be a common configuration for 3-pickup Charvels and arguably a more usable tone. Great demo - seems to be a really versatile guitar. There seem to be a lot of good super-strat options in this price range at the minute. I'd be interested to see a shootout between this and similar options like the Fender classic player plus, Yamaha Pacifica 612 and the Schecter Nick Johnston.
have the HH and this thing just plays itself while needing minimal setup. I like messing with my guitars but I've never had to change anything on mine apart from the tuner but that's because the thumb screw broke due to a little accident.
i own many guitars, original ibanezes like rg550, az2204nw, Fender USA Prof 2 Strat, Gibson 70s Fyling V, Pacifica 612 VII and from all the Guitars i own this Indonesian made Guitar has the best Neck from them all.
Is it possible to lower the bridge pickup on this guitar? I have one arriving in the mail tomorrow so would love to know that before I start messing with things so I don't screw it up!😂
Ought to do a review of the Dinky 22 fret model with S-S-S, which translates to SD's SSL6's and a Hot Rails. I've got both a DK24 and the DK22. The couple of frets difference on the neck makes a major difference in the way the guitars play and sound.
@@JoshuaTeicher as far as I understand with 24-fret guitars the neck is longer towards the pick-up side by 2 frets. But it's the same length in total as a regular 22-fret guitar. The pick-ups are moved more towards the bridge and are closer together compared to a 22-fret guitar. The pick-ups being moved back and closer together will also give it a bit of a different sound, it's not any worse of a sound either way, just different. I'd say it would be impossible to point out in a mix. I was going to get a PRS Custom 24 but found the Charvel a better guitar for *me* in almost every way. Charvels are great, and way underhyped.
@@SingPsalms thanks! I’ve since got the DK24 HH as well as the Dk22. The 24 is slightly longer when you stand them up side by side. They’re both very comfortable. I can’t tell which I prefer at the moment
Hi,hope you don't me asking, but I know you must get tons of requested songs,I'm a singer who does covers here on RU-vid,I don't have the best equipment yet but what I do have I use to my best, please ,is there anyway you could pick one song out of my resume and review it,it would help me to know where I am vocally as I've no idea.much love . That was my first thought. In person, the pink is very subdued, and it looks more like a soft coral. The store had the guitar in both the pink and shale gray. Seeing the two side by side, I could have just as well bought the pink Dinky; however, the shale gray version of the guitar just felt more right, so I bought it.
