trust me, it's rough for the first 20 minutes, but then once you learn how to dial it in. Its my favorite pedal on my board. They have great support at Chase Bliss. They will get you through it. Now I want to try another one of their pedals.
hey Mr Knobs. In case no one said that: your demos are awesome! Warped vinyl and OBNE black fountain were on my list anyway, but you got me into the ct5. I am very lucky with these wonderful pedals, now.
wow I remember looking at this gadget and being like "nah I can find these sounds on my own with shit I already own" I now retract that thought. Thanks Knobs :3
***** I'm incredibly into pedals haha just look at the frame for my last few videos. However the musical vision I have puts this cool Chase pedal at the bottom of the list of pedals I really want/need. I need like 3 more simple looper pedals first and then I'll get cool effects.
Still the coolest pedal out IMO. One day, one day. I think that Justin Broadrick used one of these on one of the more recent Jesu records and it's surprising how listenable and musical it is.
This reminds me of some kinda combination of classic British kids TV themes. Kinda like Bagpuss, the Magic Roundabout & Trumpton all combined together. 😀
Option anxiety and having to memorize all that stuff in terms of how the knobs respond to each of those dip switch settings makes it a quick/easy hard pass for me. I’ll stick with my H9.
How come all these lo-fi warped record pedals cost a fortune? They're all like $300 or more. I like the sound but the price is hard to justify, especially for a pedal I wouldn't use everyday.
Listening to this real loud and I hear some odd Christmas-reindeer-bell-like sounds on every beat during the whole first minute or so. Don't know what that is, the pickups, amp or the pedal. If it's the pedal - I guess it doesn't need more cowbell then. Sorry. I don't do drugs btw.. although it'd probably be appropriate for watching these demos. (;
Knobs haha. The amp. I wish it was the pedal! Tried to recreate exactly this tambourine ringledingle. I got some really cool sounds out of it though by turning up the tone and depth knobs.
As far as I understand it does have MIDI via the Tap/MIDI input, which is where you can save and recall up to 122 presets! That number might be wrong but it sticks out to me as what I've read before, it's definitely close!
From about 2:30 on when you're demoing the external switches it in very "Wild Honey Pie"/"Bungalow Bill"-ish type territory, super quirky. casecandyblog.tumblr.com
Doesn't sound any better than the MBE Mind Bender, which is half the price and doesn't require the user to play Operation with the pedal to get a certain sound.
I just like that old timely broken record feel to it. I can't find another pedal like it. Ramp up down different. Do some dirty old underground jazz full of cursing and weirded out stuff. Sing like bing crosby saying, Murdering hillary with trump body parts it's a bloody day it better rain.. I'll work with that saxophonist if he buys me this pedal. Different every song I play.
