Meanwhile rent out here went from $1,100 for a 1 br to $1,850……. Property management say insurance and property tax gone up so they have to raise the rent to compensate. I’m struggling out here trying to come up with an extra $750 a month. It’s really hard
She can't increase your rent until the lease you signed comes to an end. Chase you should have never signed a multiple year lease. One year only. Then if you want to leave after the year is up, or renew for another year, you can.
That's not accurate at all. Now don't get me wrong, if chase would have left the office as it was then your statement would be absolutely correct. But because of the work that chase has done to his office that makes it possible for her to increase his rent because it's within the LEGAL GUIDELINES. Chase basically had some workers come into his office and perform what u call a Small Construction Project, it can also be considered a Small Commercial Project because it's an office. Now here's the real reason his rent is going up, it's because Bethany and her people see it as an UPGRADE. By law anytime an upgrade is made rather it's to an apartment a house or a building then your rent is now subject to an increase. It take 30 days though.

Bethany is enforcing the lease he signed. Tenant Landlord laws are clear and open to the public. There’s usually an “additional rent” clause with enforceable terms catering to the Landlord also.
Ro tried to warn Chase not to do any business with Heffeny/Bethany but he didn't want to listen to Ro and now he has to deal with Heffeny and her shenanigans for the next 5yrs of his lease agreement. What I don't understand, how Heffeny go up on Chase's rent already and they haven't even been there 6 to 12 months yet. This is very educational to individuals looking to lease space or tenants renting someone’s property. This has nothing to do with race and everything to do with what you’ve signed up for. You and your lawyer should review the lease, because landlords will make sure they are covered legally 💯
What type of lease did Chase sign that allows Bethany to raise it within a few months of moving in? I wouldn't care if it was $1 increase, it's the principle not to mention if not contested, she can raise it $500 or more. He may be able to challenge it or even break the lease if she doesn't return it back to the agreed upon lease agreement.
