World of Hyatt and Marriott Bonvoy are two Chase hotel cards that are often talked about, and after holding each card for more than a year, I think it’s pretty safe to make an opinionated comparison. So that’s what we are going to be doing today. I'm going to compare their aspects in terms of point redemptions, card perks, quality, and overall experience.

These certificates sound good on paper, but oftentimes hotels play games and have a lot of blackout dates.

If your comparing these two low tier cards its hyatt for the win. But the ritz and brilliant marriott cards fnc’s are better then the woh fnc’s.

I love the IHG card, $95 AF, free night credit that you can use easier than Marriott, Platinum status and it gives you $50 in united bank every year. also if you use points every 4th night is free giving it very good value.

I have had Ritz card for a while and just got hyatt card earlier this year. Have not had a chance to use free night award. Ritz has been nice. Problem is that when you stay at the ritz, you end up spending a lot even if room cost is free

The Hyatt bonus info you gave is incorrect. Here is what the website says: 30,000 Bonus Points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.** Plus, up to 30,000 more Bonus Points by earning 2 Bonus Points total per $1 spent in the first 6 months from account opening on purchases that normally earn 1 Bonus Points, on up to $15,000 spent.**

Hyatt probably easier to us 1-4 category but less properties. I heard Choice has come nice hotels out the country also. Hilton has some nice elevated offers too!

Highly recommend going to Palacio del Inka if you’re going to Cusco, Peru; everything from the food and ambience is amazing as it used to be a 500-year-old mansion! I don’t if he still has a restaurant there, but when I went Virgilio Martinez (owner of the best restaurant in the world CENTRAL) used to also serve his amazing food in that location. I would also recommend looking through the Chase Travel portal for only this particular case because last time I checked they had discounted rates w/ breakfast, and even worth less with Chase points! Hope you guys can check this place out! P.S.: I also wanted to see if any of the two hotels had a brand in Machu Picchu, but unfortunately it’s only an off-chain hotel.

I have both and found that Hyatt points can be harder to use due to the hotel not taking points and only cash. Similar to what you mentioned in Japan during golden week. With Marriott it can be hard finding a hotel under 35k forcing you to use extra points to cover the difference. That said, I’ve had the cards for about 3-4 years and I’ve been able to use the certificate every year for both.

If I can provide some feedback for Peru, the Marriotts in Cusco are amazing. I stayed 5 night at Tambo del Inka and 3 nights at JW Marriott Cusco all on points with Platinum status. Was upgraded to a suite at both and the free breakfast was unbelievable.

What are your thoughts on owning multiple credit cards? I already have the Hyatt and the Marriott Bonvoy credit cards, but I’m looking into possibly getting the Hilton Surpass card due to the elevated offer right now. Is that too many? Any thoughts and advice is appreciated.
