No, I garantie you that as a Dad he would have his weaknesses , off days etc like any Dad. Our own children know how to press our buttons! His too : I ' m sure of it.

@@ruthtaylor1083, he gave an excellent example of teaching your children critical thinking skills there. That is something very lacking in society today. Guess you missed that interaction.

Wasn't done yet - phone has case of worms - So we wind up chalking it up to humans' ability to rationalize, but what we are really looking at is irrational behavior. Not trying to give you guys a bad time, just trying to discuss - Really reminds me of the whole anti-vaxxer movement...and then some... Anti-vax movement aside, would be interested in your response to this. I enjoy your discussions. Again, no bad feelings - Thanks for sharing.

PS - perhaps then it might be productive to take a closer look at what causes irrational behavior in people? Does the wiring between the amygdala and the frontal cortex get short-circuited somehow? Hormonal? Transmitters like seratonin, etc.? Thanks again for sharing.

I did wonder if I was the only person who noticed that! A world of masculine assumptions. They are, of course, the product of their world, culture, background, experiences though. So I'm not blaming, but it's right to call it out and ask for people to unlearn this exclusive perspective. Time to see women, and talk in ways that include rather than exclude .

Normal females in the actual workplace do not demand that every conversation must 'gender' them, (out of "respect" or something...?...not sure what's behind it, insecurity most likely) and we realize that, if you have a bunch of guys being given different tasks, or what-have-you, then some of the guys may be women, but it is okay to just refer to the group as 'guys'. Not sure but it may possibly be that females who demand gender-identification in group pronouns are not as well-liked as the more normal females I referred to in my first sentence. People who have a chip on their shoulder make other people uncomfortable. And if you make others uncomfortable, you are not well-liked in the work-place. So if you actually rely on your own work to pay for your life (and if you do not ladies, then you'd best check your privilege before speaking for me), it is best to try and do everything you can to remain well-liked in your work-place. Signed, a successful female in so-called "STEM" since the 1980s.

@@lesliefroelich4144 totally agree. But I do think there's a place for this discussion all the same, reflected by the ambiguity in your response. I expect that this will skip over the difficult genderisation of language and that non-gender language will become the norm as it is in schools - for example - there are students learning in schools, not boys and girls. By referring to the roles/job description of the person occupying the position, the person can be high paying or volunteer, male or female, old or young etc. - eg managers, leaders, customer service staff, administrative support staff The current generation is far more aware of the benefits of not labelling people according to gender and I think they will be the ones who will ultimately broaden vocabulary to be far less 'gendered', and to bring about welcome change.

Hit me that way, too, but I don't think that was his intention. I imagine it's pretty intimidating interviewing Chase Hughes, or any of the Behavior Panel.
