The best example of terrible police marksmanship and their intelligence level was when 7 cops fired over 100 rounds at a blue Toyota Tacoma thinking it was Chris dorner's dark grey Nissan titan and the women in the truck lived. Completely different trucks and completely different colors. In the end none of the cops were fired or charged with any crimes and the tax payers funding paid for a settlement of over $4mil.

He had a ram bar that probably slowed things down a bit.
