The way you go from calm and gentle to emotional outburst is always such a gut-punch in the best possible way. It always feels like this person has been trying to remain calm in a "I would really like it if you stayed with me. Please?" then the dam breaks and they're like "F**k it, I really can't lose you, you are my world and I'd have nothing if you left." I got similar vibes from your "What Could Have Been" cover. My music instructor has always said to me and other bands: go softer to go harder. The dynamics change makes it hit more. You going the softer, gentler first half, slightly more energy for second chorus, back down for the bridge, and then HIT us with the last chorus. Gorgeous as always. "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol came out in 2006, when I was 16. I ended up buying the entire "Eyes Open" Compact Disc maybe two years or so later. This song brought back a lot of memories. Working at McDonald's, listening to CDs in my car every chance on my breaks, driving to work, driving home. This cover is particularly good, Jon. Gave me goosebumps at timestamp 1:58. The echoing effect is a cool choice, I love how it's different enough from the original to stand out. So much passion when the heavy metal sound comes in! I was floored. Rock on Jon, you are amazing!!!!!

This song mean's the world to me. My stepmom was very important to me and my childhood. Helped pull me out of a horrid situation. Life happened, we grew apart. Though would still meet up when it was physically possible. With or without my siblings. Then I got the call. It had been about 15 years. She wasn't likely to survive the next couple days. I hauled ass cross country; spent a month at her side. Working night/swing care. The hours I spent laying on the sofa next to her bed shooting the shit. As this song rang in the back of my head. This is a wonderful version, close to the version I sang in my head. I really miss her. Thanks for making this.

Her favorite song was Chasing Cars, and in fact it's what I played her to sleep with. I think she would have approved of this cover. Gods but I miss her. Thanks for this.🥲

The anticipation building in the first half of this was sooo good and the pay off was amazing

The second half is definitely my favorite part. Please don't take this in the wrong way, but I just kinda wish you hadn't added so many effects to your voice for the verses in the beginning. Your voice is so amazing, and I feel like all the special effects in the first couple minutes kind of detract from it. The chorus and the end are amazing though. Especially when you went from all amped up to pretty much everything but your voice stripped away, the raw emotions in both of those juxtaposed takes were so powerful.

This was an absolutely stunning rendition of one of my favorite songs. I love the sheer contrast between the almost lo-fi like beginning; relaxing, contemplative, almost synthetic with how metered out the verses and syllables were. And then the latter portion was just filled with so much raw emotion, a truly human outcry of passion, almost desperation to feel like you belong; shouting out to the void for someone, just anyone willing to hear your voice. At least that's my interpretation. Thanks for the feels!

This was mi ex's favourite song. She got it from some show about doctors. I was never really into that series but since it wasnt a big deal to me, ill just join her whenever she was watching it.
