Love these shots with the drone, they are absolutely gorgeous. Do you mind if I ask what kind of equipment are you using?

@clward1963 Thank you so much, I really do appreciate it. I usually set up 3-4 cameras on the ground including my cellphone. I have a Panasonic G7 and GX85. They're pretty good for the price and the 4K video is very crisp. I also recently purchased a Fuji X-T3. I think it has the best video quality out of the bunch, but its files are enormous. I also use my iPhone 8 for the wide shots. Normally, it does pretty well as long as I can avoid shooting into the sun. I use a DJI Mavic Pro for the drone shots. I have two microphones, a Rode VideoMicro and a Takstar (forget the model but it was around $40) I have a simple Uniden bc75xlt to listen to the engineers and dispatchers, but I must say I've been disappointed with how hit and miss it seems. I then record that audio into a separate Sony recorder. That's probably more information than you wanted but hopefully it helps. Have a great day!

@@nkyrailfan No, thank you for the time and effort. Last evening, I watched many of your other videos and was very impressed and wondered how you were getting so many good shots and how you were getting the sound of the locos without the drone noise. I would like to eventually do something with the Peavine route from Newtown to Rarden like you are doing with yours. My reasoning is to tell the history of the route, how the towns along the route depended on the N&W, and with the final result maybe on weekend and excursion train. Again, thanks for sharing and all you do.

@@clward1963 thank you, I try to make them look as good as I can but sometimes with so many cameras, I'll forget to focus or do some other silly mistake. I'm sure you've already found his videos but just in case, Jaw Tooth has done many videos on the Peavine. ru-vid.com/show-UCYJGA0UPd82sFXqojmrkF0A If you're just looking for enjoyable railfan videos, I haven't found anyone better than Distant Signal. Great narration and explanation of the trains and where he's shooting. ru-vid.com Have a great day! Let me know when you make it out to the Peavine.

WHY ARE THERE NO MIDD;E ENGINES ON SOME TRAINS

You mean dpu’s? And it’s because some trains don’t need them. The only time you will see dpu’s is if the train is long and is going through a fairly steep grade - the dispatcher or train master I think usually chooses if the train needs a dpu or not
