In this video we head up to Steven's Pass on Highway 2 in Washington. From the East side of the pass we enter NF6700 and push through to Lake Wenatchee. The snow was as good as it gets for October.

@@simpleinstinct good stuff my brother and I built a winch mount plate bolt in under frame, behind factory bumper. Clean and less weight, tire selection is a big part of back country travel. Have fun, go Offroad

@@simpleinstinct no sir, my rooftop tent, awning, and XD 9500 lb WARN Winch, overland rig up is on my 2012 FORD SVT Raptor with the still strong 6.2. Extra leaf spring, gives me lots of room for 37” BFGs. Have fun go Offroad

I live in Minnesota and running with the locker on in snow causes more issues with sliding the rear end than anything in my opinion. Just straight 4wd or 4 low has been the best for me. The only time I use my locker is if I have the two drive tires on ice.

I am so feelin' this vid. Around 4:00 min mark, totally me last month in the lower Sierra's, CA. At some point for me, the panic started creeping in that those trax were not going to save me. They did eventually... Loved this part, glad you made it.

I have a 2004 f150 4x4 with a 6 inch lift and 35 inch off road tires . If you are going to four wheeling you have it set up for that. I been in snow trails just like that and worse and it's a piece of cake. What I am saying is add a few things to your truck and you won't have to work so hard or worry about getting stuck. Still good video.

Have a 2018 f150 STX 4x4. Without the locker. With the tires on these from the factory, not sure I'd have attempted that trail

Nice Video! I'd like to see what that truck can do with a proper set of a/t tires. Seems like those dynapros are ok but kind of holding you back.

@@simpleinstinct I've seen basically new stock raptor wheels and tires for sale pretty cheap. You may need a small lift to clear them, but they look mean!

Got a few more things to do to my 2011 and I'm set for sure, got some epic trips planned this summer here in Montana.glad I got the fx4 tho, we have similar weather so the locker and Goodyear duratracks save alot of digging

A locker helps for sure! I'm glad I chose that as an option. I've heard good things about the duratracs. I went with the BFG Ko2s.

@@simpleinstinct been running them for 10 years, that and the Montana fish and game uses them on their trucks and the game wardens so that alone speaks volumes.i run a ton of gravel roads and beat on them hard with jeep xj and always get through or dig one hell of a hole trying lol

Really let down by most offroad videos. This one is decent but I was bummed out when you got stuck in 5 inches of snow because you chose to continue turning, not going far enough back or using momentum. Was disappointed. Go ahead and pick up snow chains from les Schwab too. Good video overall thumbs up 🙌

If you mean in the beginning of the video, where I pulled over to let the other vehicles by, I could not go forward where I was. Reason I have not bought chains yet is because I'll be changing tire and wheel size soon. Thanks for watching!

Good truck choice! They are called "traction boards" the brand in the video is Maxsa Innovations, but I don't recommend them. A better cheap option are the Bunker Industries ones from Amazon. The fancy ones are Matrax.

@@simpleinstinct Thank you for the response brother. I re watched it and you said what you were in. Do you know if you can drive these F-150’s in 4H when snow is on the ground? Can you turn the wheels and does it disengage and re engage at certain speeds? Sorry for all the questions lol I just bought a 2015 XLT 4x4, I’ve always had AWD i know 4x4 is different. Thanks

@@PatelPresh Yes you can drive in the snow with 4wd HI on at any speed. No with 4wd it stays on until you turn it off.

In this video I had Maxsa Escaper buddies. I don't have them anymore. Right now I have GoTreads and a set of Bunker Industries. GoTreads are great. The Bunker Industries ones have been good so far.
